Lindsey
A few weeks passed and my relationship with Andy seemed to be going strong. We had been going out practically every night and I was actually enjoying myself again.
“You know, I’d love to meet this Andy. Why don’t you invite him over for dinner?” my mom told me while we were doing laundry one day.
“I don’t know, Mom. He’s a busy person,” I replied. I really didn’t feel like having my mom meet Andy anytime soon. I didn’t know how she would react to him.
“Invite him over, Linds. If he says he’s busy, then we’ll do it some other time. What’s it hurt?” she argued. Sh folded one of my shirts and dropped it in the basket.
I sighed. “Ok,” I agreed reluctantly. I also was kind of nervous about how my brothers would act with him. I had 2 identical 15-year-old twin brothers, Matt and Josh. They were kind of rude to say the least.
I left the room to call Andy. “Hey, Andy,” I greeted when he picked up. I sat down on the couch in the living room.
“Hey,” he replied happily. I could hear Ashley and CC in the background talking abut some lyrics. I smiled imagining the scene.
“Are you busy tonight?” I questioned playing with the hem of my shirt. My stomach did a flip-flop at the thought of him coming to my house.
“Of course not,” he responded. I heard Ashley and CC’s voiced dye down in the background and the music stop.
“Would you mind coming over to my house for dinner? My mom wants to meet you,” I explained. I heard the front door open and Matt and Josh file in talking loudly. I tried to shush them but it was useless.
“No, I’d love to meet your mom,” Andy told me as I shoved a finger in my ear to drown out my brothers. I had been hoping he would say that he was going to stay in the studio late or something.
“Ok, come over around 6,” I commanded. My brothers finally decided to shut up so I could hear Andy again.
“Ok, I’ll see you then, Linds,” he told me. I said goodbye and hung up. I stood and walked back to my mother.
“He’ll be over at 6,” I grumbled grabbing more wash and folding hastily.
“Good,” Mom exclaimed happily with a smile appearing on her face. She was way too excited about this.
A few hours later, it was 5 and I went upstairs to get ready. I put on an aztec print tank top and skinny jeans. I fixed my makeup and hair. I could hear the doorbell ring downstairs. The butterflies in my stomach were having a rave party. I took a few deep breaths, slipped on my shoes, and ran down the stairs.
“I’ll get it,” I yelled before either of my brothers could beat me to the door. I unlocked the door and pulled it open.
“Hey,” Andy greeted. He bent down to kiss my cheek. He had in a t-shirt and jeans just like always, but I still thought he looked handsome.
“Hi. Come in,” I told him moving aside to let him in as my mom came into the room. I turned to see her shocked face. She quickly calmed herself down. I could tell she was surprised by how Andy looked. She had a similar reaction to Sierra when she had first saw him.
“Mom, this is Andy,” I introduced. My mom smiled nervously and stuck out her hand. Andy shook it returning her smile.
“Nice to meet you, Mrs. Barnes,” Andy greeted. I could tell he was just as nervous as I was.
“You can call me Lisa,” she told him letting go of his hand. Andy just nodded. Mom stepped away from us and yelled up the stairs for Matt and Josh to come down.
