Lindsey
I woke up in Andy’s arms the previous night still fresh in my mind. Suddenly, Andy’s phone started blaring “Unholy” by Kiss and he woke up clearly startled. He rolled over and fumbled to turn it off.
“Good morning, beautiful,” he greeted once his phone went quiet. I turned around to face him and he planted a kiss on my lips. I looked at the time. It was 9 AM. I had no idea what time he was being picked up, but I was hoping it wasn’t soon.
“Good morning,” I replied kissing him again. I wanted kiss him as much as I possibly could before he left.
He started to stand up and walk towards the door. “Where you going?” I asked not wanting him to leave.
“To take a shower. You’re welcome to join if you’d like,” he responded suggestively. The idea of taking a shower with him sounded pretty enjoyably to me.
“Sounds fun,” I told him happily practically jumping out of bed.
I followed him to the bathroom and we hopped in the shower. Let’s just say there ended being more kissing than cleaning, but I was totally fine with that. I mean, why not? Nothing matter other than the fact that I loved him and I knew he loved me. After about a half hour, he shut off the water and we got out. We probably could have been out in 15 minutes, but we couldn’t seem to keep our hands off each other. He handed me a towel and wrapped myself in it quickly, my body disliking the cold air. We made our way back into his room and dried off.
“Want breakfast?” he questioned once we were both fully clothed. He grabbed our towels and put them in a hamper near the door. I had to say, for a guy living by himself, he was pretty organized.
“Sure. Whatcha got?” I asked following him into the kitchen. I rested my elbows on the counter and put my head in my hands. I looked around at his apartment. I had been there so much, I kind of felt like I lived there. I was going to miss this place.
“Poptarts,” he replied opening a cabinet, “and more Poptarts and that’s about it.” He grinned and turned around to show me the cabinet. I couldn’t help but smile at the sight.
“What flavor?” I questioned. I hadn’t had a Poptart in forever, so him only having Poptarts didn’t bother me.
“Cinnamon or strawberry,” he told me. I picked cinnamon and he popped it in the toaster. He leaned against the counter copying my posture and looking at me from across the island.
“I’m gonna miss you,” I whispered. He leaned over the island and kiss my forehead. I was going to miss him kissing my forehead like that.
“I’m gonna miss you, too,” he told me, “but we’ll get do it, Linds.” I was going to miss his voice, his touch, his laugh. I felt like I might cry. Keep it together, Lindsey, I scolded myself.
Suddenly, the toaster dinged and he jumped up to get my Poptart. “What time are you leaving?” I asked almost not wanting to know the answer.
“Between 10 and 10:30,” he replied glancing at the time. It was 9:55. I couldn’t believe that in five minutes, he’d walk out the door and wouldn’t return for months.
We ate out Poptarts in silence. I couldn’t think of anything to say. The only thing I could think about was how much I was going to miss him. Suddenly, his phone lit up signaling he had received text.
“They’re here,” he announced. He shoved his phone into his pocket as he stood up. He swallowed the rest of his Poptart and threw his paper plate in the trash.
“Ok,” I replied quietly. I stood up with him and helped him clean up. My heart was slowly sinking. He gathered his bags and I grabbed mine. I open the door and we made our way to the elevator.
