————————————————————The holidays came around quite fast and before we knew it we were all packing up getting ready to go home for Christmas break. Adelaide was dreading it all month, she loved her family but she was quite lonely back home. I tried to comfort her as best as I could but that was just making her more emotional because she'll "miss having me around cheering her up". I'm not good at these kind of situations so I just smiled, heh. We all arrived at the train station but of course Addy was taking another train going to opposite direction than us so we had to split and say our goodbyes at the platforms. Harry and I were getting the same train because we were going to the same place, obviously, so I just sat with him on the train. Nothing really happened during that time.
We arrived at the Grand Central Terminal back home in New York and our parents were waiting there to pick us up. I spotted my dad from a mile away because he's so tall. I ran up and gave him a hug and he lifted me up off the floor while doing so, I turned to my mother to give her a hug and she embraced me in a more gentle one placing a kiss on my head. I never realized how much I actually missed my parents until I reunited with them.
"The house has been too quite without you, kiddo." My dad said. I just giggled a bit still beaming up into his face in adoration.
"Fill us in! What have you been up to?" My mother questioned, so I did. I told them about my new friends, the altercations I had with Poppy throughout the year, how I was doing academically and how Harry and I are friends now. When I told them about Harry they both looked at each other with a look on their face like they just got the best news in their entire life. You know the look someone has when they look like they won an award or something? Yeah. That. I didn't take notice of it then. When we walked outside our car was waiting there with a chauffeur opening the door for me.
When we arrived home I ran straight up to my bedroom and let myself sink in all the pillows. The familiar smell filled my nostrils and I was just so happy to be home in my own room. I missed it.

December 24th, 6:47 pmEvery Christmas Eve we all head over to the Osborn's house for their annual eve party. The day leading up to it usually goes the same way;
I wake up, eat my breakfast, having a screaming fight with my mom about how I don't want to go, I lock myself in my room and cry, I go back downstairs, make up with my mom, have a snack, fight again, I get ready in an over the top dinner dress, cry and scream at her again about how I hate Harry, gets dragged out of the house to the Osborns, sit on my own being miserable for the whole night.But this year that wasn't the case at all. I was surprisingly excited for the party. I didn't argue with my mom, I didn't cry or put up a fuss. I was looking forward to it. As soon as I finished my lunch I ran upstairs to get ready. I put on a long dress that flared out on the floor and curled my hair and sat on my bed until it was time to leave.
The Osborn family lived in a lavish house, practically a mansion, they're filthy rich and to be quite honest, so were we. My father and Norman like to joke that they have more money than sense. When we arrived at the Osborns' it was the same as it was every year, elegant music playing coming from a live band, all sorts of rich people walking in, voices filling the air, extravagant decorations. My mother fixed my dress when I got out of the car and we walked up the steps leading to the entrance door. Harry and his parents stood at the foyer greeting all the guests as they entered. When we walked up Harry smiled at me, it was strange despite the fact we've been friends for a few months now.
