*Sherlock's POV*

When I first met you
I thought I knew it all
thought I had deduced
all there was about you.

When I met you again
that day you moved in
I realised that I was wrong
you were a deduction
but you were also so many more to come.

We went to have dinner
it may've been a date
if you hadn't been so shy
after all
we all knew it was
just a stakeout.

But the way you looked at me
as you spoke
as if my very presence
was captivating

The way you
tilted your head
like a curious puppy
and smiled
like you loved me

Was I so
intriguing
to you?

Were you
fascinated by me
or
afraid of me?

Did you know
when you tilted your head
and smiled
that I felt it too?

"He's not my date"
felt like a coverage
of what we really felt
those butterflies
Was I not paying attention to the cars outside
but to you?

And the candle on the table
to make it feel more romantic
but it wasn't a date
it was just a stakeout
we all knew
it was just a stakeout.

Right?

Or was it more?
