Y/N spent most part of her day at her shop, not really bothering Jungkook during the day. She would prepare breakfast and usually leave just as the man woke up, returning in the late afternoon or evening. The two would eat dinner together and chat until she went to bed first. That became their routine.
Jungkook liked the privacy during the day, as there were a few things he had to do without letting his flatmate know.
Despite his plans to just sleep and play games all day, he had soon grown bored of it, and started working as an independent lawyer.
Since he was still a rookie based on work experience, his name was placed on the list of lawyers whom the police called if one couldn't afford to hire someone for themselves. Jungkook didn't mind it although he knew that he could be able to easily earn huge sums with his skills.
Not to mention his name.
Aside from his work as lawyer, he also had to stay updated on everything happening in the upper circles. Checking criminal activities, new companies that were built and the latest news from the highest court.
Jungkook was just as informed of his surroundings as Y/N, and knew exactly what possible dangers lurked out there ready to strike any moment. He was calm though, since he knew how to protect himself and had a home with good security.
He was in his room after just finishing some documents, opening the hidden compartment in his walk in closet to place them away. As the door opened he could see all of his guns neatly hung up on the wall above the few binders and boxes with ammunition.
He remembered how they had these built in instead of buying a safe, and he was glad that Y/N also bought that explanation when he showed her the one in her room. To her, it was just a place to store valuable things and work documents, and not a mini weaponry.
Well, what Jungkook didn't know didn't bother him.
Maybe if he knew what the girl stored in her secret compartment a few doors away he'd be less relaxed, but that was a story for another time.
He heard the entrance door open and a loud 'I'm back' as he closed the compartment and walked out of his room to greet the girl.
"Welcome back~ how was your day?"
Y/N threw her body on the couch and let out a groan as an answer, making the man smile at her behaviour.
"Give me a few minutes and then I'll start with the dinner. My back is just killing me, and being hunched over doing a tattoo for a few hours without a break didn't help either."
"Want me to make something today? You should take a warm bath, relax your muscles and leave dinner to me." Jungkook offered and nudged her shoulder so she would get up, but it only earned him a small whimper.
"Shit, I can't get up." Her strained voice was accompanied by a hiss and a whimper as Y/N tried to move a bit.
"Fuck!" She screwed her eyes shut as a tear escaped from them, face buried into the pillow to hide her pained expression.
"Hey, you okay? Want me to help you get up or bring some painkillers?"
Jungkook was now beside her crouching at her level, seeing how shallow her breathing has become. His hand reached to move the hair covering her face, but stopped when another whimper left her lips.
"Can...can you bring me some of the pain relief patches from my room? There's a bunch of them in the second bathroom drawer. Bring all of them." She spoke weakly, attempting to bring her arm up to lean her head on it but gave up and just let it dangle off the sofa's side.
