Ch 23 - Terrifying Truths

As Clay returned home, he noticed his phone had so many notifications. They were mostly from George, but a few from Nick

He noticed the sun coming up and groaned, because he had no sleep. "It's Saturday," Azazel said as Clay sighed and just dropped onto his bed

A portal appeared as the demon growled, but stopped as he noticed a familiar face. "Aku?" Azazel asked as the demon took Azazel away

"I have bad news," Aku said as he noticed the human on the bed. "That's Clay?" Azazel nods as the demon nods in approval, "Looks like he changed completely."

Azazel: So what is it?

Aku: It's about Clay

Azazel: *sigh* Figures

Aku: The High Demons want to know if he can really pull off the final task

Azazel: Of course he can

Aku: He's going to need to do something before he does that task

Azazel: And what is that?

Aku: He needs to go right now!

Azazel: Leave?! Why?

Aku: Because Clay has a monster inside. A demon. Powerful than the High Demons. If he doesn't feed it tonight, then tomorrow he's going to be a lot worse

Azazel: So he needs to kill tonight?

Aku: Not him, it!

Azazel: Huh?

Aku: Say nothing of this. He will not remember anything of tonight. Let him do what he needs to do, but you must protect the ones he promised to keep safe

Azazel: Thanks, Aku

Aku: Welcome, old friend

Aku went back to Hell as Azazel looked to see Clay walking out to head to school. George met up, but he was not too happy

"Last night, something was odd. I walked over and heard the neighbors complaining about you," the brunette said as the blonde was backing away slowly and George followed

"About what?!" he said nervously as Azazel gasped. He didn't want George to know, but he already has suspicions

Dumbass, Azazel thought as Clay and George kept arguing. He decided to fly off and stopped. A shadow figure was in his way

It was smiling and it flew inside Clay. Azazel gasped as he had to feed the monster. He noticed Clay grunting and knelt to the ground as George walked closer to him

"Clay?" George asked as Azazel, invisible to George, went inside Clay's body, trying to fight the monster inside as both growled and struggled

Azazel lost, for he was out and the monster was looking hungrily at George. Clay was grunting in pain as the ghost demon pushed George away

"What the -" George was interrupted as he could see a ghost demon. He nearly screamed, but the demon shushed him with his tail

"Nice to meet you, George. I'm Azazel," the demon said as he growled and carried George bridal style and took him away

"Where are you taking me?!" George asks as Azazel took him home, "I HAVE SCHOOL!" The demon just sighed as he looked straight into the brunette's eyes

Azazel: George, there's something I need you to know about Clay

George: Please tell me it's something good

Azazel: It's bad, actually

George: Don't matter

Azazel: For one, I am his demon. He summoned me years ago and I stayed by his side

George: What?

Azazel: His parents died and -

George: He wanted revenge! I know, but does it have to do with anything?

Azazel: It does

George: Than what?

Both heard a roar as Azazel flew out. George watched the demon fly to Clay's location. He had a human with him and threw the person down

The male screamed as George heard bones crunching on teeth. It was eating the human alive. Azazel flew back to get 2 more as they all screamed

George heard the humans screeching and crying for help as they were eaten alive by something. The thought of Clay also being there scared him

He was about to run to check it out, but the demon pushed him back as George was stuck to the wall. Azazel walked up to him and sighed, "The monster is Clay."

George scoffed, "As if! He's getting eaten!!" Azazel shook his head. The High Demons said he was going to tell George he was Dream, one way or another

"George, Clay is Dream," Azazel said as George shook his head, "No! NO! It's not true! IT'S NOT POSSIBLE!"

Azazel: I know you find it hard to believe, but trust me, he is

George: YOU'RE LYING!

Azazel: Just because I am from Hell, it doesn't mean I am lying

George: He's not Dream!

Azazel: Explain this then

Azazel took out Clay's box. It had his clothing, the bandages, the weapons, and his signature smiley face mask

Clay ran towards them as his eyes widened. "Clay, is this true?" George asked as Clay slowly walked towards him, "George, let me explain -"

He was interrupted by the brunette screaming, "HOW COULD YOU?!"

Clay: George, listen!

George: Listen?! Or if I don't, are you going to kill me?!

Clay: I'd never!

George: You wanted me all to yourself!

Clay: I just -

George: Just nothing! Stay away from me! I DON'T EVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!

Clay: George!

George: GO DIE IN HELL, YOU FUCKING MURDER!

George ran away as Clay fell to the ground. Tears streamed down as Azazel patted his shoulder, "Are you now suitable to complete the mission?"

Clay's eyes changed to red in color. He growled and stood up. He felt empty. He was no longer himself, but he nodded, "I am!"
