Was it doubt? Was it fear? Had Lexa read the whole situation wrong? She kept looking in Clarke's eyes, her mouth opened but not a sound came out and they layed there, silent, powerless. Clarke was the first to look away after a few more infinite moments, Lexa cleared her throat and finally got up then reached to help Clarke but she flinched back and the brunette suddenly understood. That asshole. She kneeled down trying to get Clarke's attention but her eyes were distant "Clarke..." Lexa whispered gently and slowly reached Clarke's hand, the blonde stood still this time and Lexa managed to interwine their fingers.

She sat in front of her and grabbed the other hand, slowly tracing circles on the back of them with her thumb "It's okay, you're safe. I would never hurt you" she softly kept telling her kind words until Clarke's eyes started brightening up again, she looked up and gave Lexa a small but full of gratefulness smile; Lexa nodded and right before she could get up Clarke hugged her, she looked so small, so unprotected, so fragile and Lexa swore to herself that she would give that abusive piece of shit what he deserved for hurting her girl. The brunette mentally slapped herself and looked down at Clarke who was cuddled against her chest with her eyes closed, still shaking a little bit but with a much more relaxed expression on her face.
