"So, for the fundraiser this weekend, I was thinking of setting up a baking competition? If anyone has already set that up, just let me know..."

Y/n had no idea how she'd fallen back to sleep that morning. All she could think about was that Bucky's nightmare, and how she could picture it so vividly. But, as soon as she was wrapped back in her husbands arms, everything felt calm again. He was her safe place, and Bucky knew that very well. He knew exactly how to lull her to sleep. It was nice.

Several hours had passed since then, and y/n was at her weekly committee meeting for the town. She was one of the main 'leaders' of the committee, but she never liked to mention that. Y/n just wanted what was best for the town. She loved setting up fundraisers, events, town parties, and everything. It was fun to see the smiles on everyone's faces. It was fun to be in c̵̭̄̓ǫ̶̧͓̻͙͚̠̥̭̖̬̈́̅͒̌̋̇̉̽͘n̵̠̔̓͠t̶̞̞͖͎̽̈́r̵͖̜̘̮̯̙̠̾́̐̿̊̿̐̀͠͠͝ö̷̳̭́̓̽̀́̌̎̈́͐̄l̶̦̋ .

No.

It was fun to be in-the-know with everything going on in town.

Y/n was currently sat down at the back of the room, quietly taking notes of all the different ideas people were offering. Normally, she'd be the one to lead the meetings, but she wanted to take a backseat today. She was still pretty on-edge over the nightmare, so she wasn't exactly in the mood to be super charismatic if she didn't have to.

"Yes! We could give the husbands a theme and see what cake they can come up with!" A new voice suddenly exclaimed, causing y/n to turn around to find out who it was.

The committee was always welcome to newcomers. Hell, Westview was probably the most welcoming town in the world. People would help other move in, they'd make welcome baskets, anything to make someone feel at home. But, this felt a little different. Usually it'd be the talk of the town if somebody new moved in, but there hadn't even been a mention of this new person. Y/n tried not to think about it too much, she was pretty occupied yesterday with the Harts, it must've just slipped her mind.

It was a bubbly-looking woman, but someone that y/n had never seen before. She seemed pretty nice. A happy grin that radiated around the room as she talked with the rest of the townspeople about a baking competition. They all thought it was a great idea, even deciding that it should be beach-themed to give a bit of flare to everything.

Y/n stood up from her chair, making sure that she didn't interrupt the conversation as she wandered her way toward the new woman. The lady didn't look like she was any harm, y/n just wanted to introduce herself. She waited patiently for the conversation to shift, sitting herself down beside her with a joyful grin. "I haven't seen you here before, are you new?" Y/n asked curiously, eyes widening when she noticed the worry in the woman's eyes. God, she'd forgotten how much of a status Darlene had in the town. "Oh! Where are my manners!" She exclaimed, holding a hand out for her to shake. "I'm Darlene."
