"Darlene! I've missed you!"

Y/n was in shock. Her eyes were wide with complete and utter confusion as Wanda forced her into a hug, desperately trying to figure out what was going on. Y/n didn't want Wanda there. She didn't make anyone knock on the door. She and Bucky had been in the middle of a heavy conversation - well, it seemed more like an argument. The last thing she wanted was for somebody to knock on the door.

"What're you doing here?" Y/n asked in a hushed tone, unsure of whether to be in the character of Darlene or not. Her chin rested on Wanda's shoulder as the woman squeezed the life out of her, mind whirring at a thousand thoughts per minute. Y/n was very aware that Wanda wasn't under any sort of mind control, so what was happening?

However, what y/n hadn't noticed was the fact that Bucky was stood in the hallway, watching the pair. Wanda had noticed him. And that was why she decided to play along with y/n's perfect world.

Wanda pulled away from the hug, resting her hands on y/n's shoulders as she kissed each cheek. "Well, I was passing through the town and my car broke down!" She sighed, moving past y/n so she could hurry into the house. "Luckily, the mechanic was nearby. What's his name? George?" She asked, setting her jacket on the coat rack as y/n nodded in response. "George told me that it won't be fixed until tomorrow, so I guess I'm staying here for the night. A little sleepover! Like old times!"

Y/n couldn't help but stand and stare. She didn't know what to do. She didn't understand why Wanda was here, or what she was doing. It was all too much. Her mouth hung open for far too long before any words actually came out, forcing an excited smile. "That's great!" Y/n said in a shaky tone, finally shutting the front door as Wanda bustled around with her coat, shoes, and bags.

Bucky never took his eyes off of his wife. Not once. He noticed everything. From the startled look in her eyes, to the way she fumbled over her own words. This stranger wasn't supposed to be in the town. He could tell, and it was fuel to the angry flame in his chest. Y/n was going along with whatever this 'Wanda' woman was doing. Y/n was going along with yet another lie. Right in front of him.

Once Wanda set her shoes down on the shoe rack, she finally turned toward Bucky. "And you must be Fred, right?" She asked, looking the super soldier up and down. God, it felt weird to see him in the flesh again. It sent chills down her spine. "Darlene has told me so much about you." Wanda hummed as she pressed a kiss to each cheek, glancing back at y/n with a surprised grin. "He looks so much better in person!" She whispered, but it wasn't very quiet.

Bucky cleared his throat uncomfortably, not looking amused in any sense. He wasn't willing to play the character of Fred, and it was blatantly obvious. His eyes stayed glued on his wife the entire time, practically burned holes through her skin. Not a word came out of his mouth, but when he turned to make his way into the kitchen, y/n knew she had to follow.

Y/n took a sharp breath as she watched her husband walk off, continuing to listen to Wanda ramble on and on. "Yeah, yeah. I know." She murmured, a sense of dread building in her chest as she started to walk toward the kitchen. "Hey, why don't you get yourself settled in the spare room? Just go up the stairs, and it'll be on your left." She hummed, eyes glued to the kitchen. Y/n didn't even wait for a response from Wanda before she pushed the door open to the kitchen, aware of her husband's anger more than anything else.

Wanda watched with a deep frown as y/n walked toward the kitchen, her character completely dropping. Her eyebrows furrowed, debating on whether to step in or leave it. Luckily, she decided on the latter. "Okay..?" She murmured in confusion, dragging out the 'o' as y/n disappeared.
