Ash's POV
"And Serena" was all I was able to take out of my mouth. I was so surprised to see her, and I saw Brock looking at me, then Serena, and back at me. He asked me, "Do you know each other?" I could not reply, I did not expect to see her here. Brock waved his hand in front of my face, and I came back into reality and replied, "Oh uh, yea, I know Serena, we met at Professors Oak's Summer camp at the age of 7, and then we met again while I was in Kalos, and traveled through it together. How do you know her Brock?" he replied by telling me the tale of how he met Serena in the Hoenn Grand Festival and decided to accompany her to Kalos. I nodded and then turned back to Serena, standing up and going near to her.
"It's so good to see you Serena. How are you doing?" I could see she was turning a little red and I asked her, "Serena, why are you turning red? Are you sick?" She just shook her head saying no and then said, "I...I am fine ...Ash...It's good to see you too, yea." "Hey, why are you nervous, it's just me."
Serena's POV
When he said those lines, I shook my nervousness off and I replied, "Yea, why am I nervous, I should be happy meeting you again." He then looked at me, smiling one of his toothy grins, satisfied by my answer, and that's when his eyes met the ribbon that he gave me. "Hey, you are still wearing my ribbon, it still looks great on you." I replied nervously, "Thanks Ash" while looking over his shoulder at Brock, who stood there with his mouth open after hearing what Ash said. I gulped nervously, then asked Ash how he knew Brock. He told me about how he met Brock, how he was a gym leader, how he realized he follow his dream, and how he traveled with him through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. After hearing this, I realized that the friend me and Brock were talking about, was the same person, Ash. I said, "Well, I must say this has lasted long." I could see Ash confused but Brock smiled, knowing what I meant.
Ash shook it off and then said, while sitting down on his seat again, "Hey guys, try Brocks cooking, it's the best in the world." I sweatdropped and chuckled and said, "Same old Ash, thinking about food." and sat in front of him. Brock sat beside me, while the rest of the gang took the other open seats. The professor asked Brock and Sophie how the pokemon were doing, and he replied that they would only need some rest. Everyone sighed a sigh of relief after hearing that, except Ash, who already knew about it.
The dinner table talk was mostly about the 'vision', or so he calls, Ash had. How did it occur and why. I was surprised at first after hearing that. Everyone was, except Goh, Chloe, and the professor, and of course Ash. I was surprised Brock knew about Ash-Greninja, the way he understood things and never questioned about his Greninja's bond. 'Ash must have told him about it, I guess.' Once dinner was over, the professor said, "You all are welcome to sleep in the lab today." Everyone accepted the professor's offer.
Soon, everyone left the table, leaving me and Brock behind, Ash wanted to check on Greninja once and went with the professor, and Bonnie went with Ash too, asking him many questions about Squishy, worry apparent on her face, even though how many times Ash tried to calm her down by saying that he would find him. The rest went with Sophie to check on the pokemon one last time before going to bed. Brock wanted to clear off after dinner, and I offered to help him.
We were working in silence before he decided to break it and said, "So, you have a crush on Ash, huh?"
Ash's POV
"Bonnie, trust me, we are going to save squishy, I promise!" I said to Bonnie, a millionth time now. I get that she is worried, but asking the same question every second isn't going to change anything, still, I remained calm, knowing how superly worried Bonnie can get when it gets to pokemon she has cared for, be it a Tyrant, who she had only cared for a day. We soon reached the room where Greninja was resting. Pikachu jumped on my shoulder, as we entered. I sat down on a chair beside Greninja, and started talking to it in a whisper, not wanting to wake up the other injured pokemon in the room. "Greninja, how are you feeling?" "Greninja!", he replied, as if trying to say he is doing okay.
"Greninja, you know, I had this vision with you, when you got injured and Squishy was taken away by I presume team flare."
"Ninja?", my pokemon replied, confused that I had gotten a vision, at the same time sad that he was not able to protect Squishy.
"Yea, I saw the whole thing. It was weird, I wonder how it happened, anyway, you do not need to be sad, I promise you that we are going to find Squishy and stop team flare, but I would not be able to do it alone."
"Nin?" (A/N I am bad with pokemon speech lmao)
"I would do it with my pokemon by my side, Dragonite, Dracovish, Lucario, SirFetch'd, Gengar, Pikachu, and most importantly, I'll need your help. Greninja, would you lend me your power again? I know, together, we can save Squishy."
Greninja got up, I tried to stop it up it did not listen to me. It knelt down on one knee a few inches away from me. I asked, "What's up Greninja?" He brought out a pokeball, it was his pokeball, wait he got it off my belt, for the second time now, first being back in Snowbelle City. He kept it on the ground and applied a slight force to it so that it would reach my feet. I realized what was happening, in front of my eyes I saw the first time I caught Greninja, as a Froakie. Tears came out of my eyes, remembering that moment. I knelt down and grabbed the pokeball and held it in front of me, now standing up. I said, "Greninja, let's find Squishy!", as Greninja brought his hand upfront, formed a fist, touched the pokeball, and said, "Ninja!", and then he tapped the white button and was engulfed by a red light, making Greninja go inside its pokeball. "Oh, Greninja..." was the only thing I could say.
Bonnie and the professor just saw us from the corner, when Greninja had gone in its pokeball again, I released him again and said "Good to have you back Greninja!", then the professor said, "Ash, I need to talk to you, about what you told me this afternoon. I know you are sleepy with all the events that happened today, but this is important." I replied, "Yes professor, I am always happy to listen to you." Professor nodded and continued, "So I did some research while you were out and before I went to help Clemont and Bonnie right here, and I found out many old manuscripts about your bond. The manuscripts were of no use, but all the manuscripts did give one specific location 'The Bond Caves' it says, and it is located near the Ruins of the Kalos Legend. It also states that 'This cave can only be found by the ones who try and seek answers related to Bond Phenomenon' it also states that that cave can answer all the questions related to the Bond phenomenon."
Mine and Greninja's eyes widened at this. We both looked at each other and I replied, "Professor, we are ready to seek some answers." "Ninja", we both replied in unison. Bonnie said, "I want to find more about Ash-Greninja! Woohoo, Dedenne, we would go on another adventure with Ash!", looking in her pouch to find a sleeping Dedenne. The professor giggled a little and then said, "You guys should go tomorrow, for now, you both need rest." and looked at me and Greninja, and then to Bonnie. We nodded in agreement as we now headed to bed, and to look for answers in the morning.
Professor Sycamore's POV
'I hope I did the right thing to not tell Ash about it.'
