In High School AU where Zenitsu secretly loves Nezuko but never confesses....until....

To the world, she was just one person, but to Zenitsu, she was the world. He's always gazed at her from afar, afraid to talk to her even if her brother was his best friend. The looming shadow of graduation draws nearer and Zenitsu realizes that once he leaves high school, they might never see each other again.

On the day of graduation, Zenitsu approches Nezuko timidly. His hair is combed neat for once and a white flower pinned over his heart on the black uniform usually worn for special occasions.

Nezuko looked up from her phone and greeted Zenitsu with a polite smile, "Good morning, Agatsuma-san, nervous for the graduation ceremony?"

Zenitsu nodded weakly.

Nezuko sighed, "Onii-chan almost threw up on the way to school, I suppose he was imagining all the worst case scenarios coming true."

"Tanjiro can be even worse at times." Zenitsu chucked and rubbed the nape of his neck awkwardly.

"He sure can..." Nezuko trailed off and shook her head sheepishly, "Anyway, what are you here for?"

"Ahh, about that." Zenitsu fumbled with his jacket and drew out a neatly folded piece of paper from his inner coat pocket. "Here, I wanted you to have this."

Nezuko arched an eyebrow and took the piece of paper from him. She prepared to unfold it, but Zenitsu put his hand firmly on her's, preventing her from doing so, "It's a letter. Open it later, will you?"

"For Tanjiro?"

"No, for you."

Nezuko smiled and tucked it away in the breast pocket of her shirt, "Thanks, I'll open it when I get home."

...

Dear Kamado Nezuko,

The sakura blossoms are blooming early again, just like two years ago when we met. The first time symbolized our meeting and I'm wondering if the second time symbolizes our parting. I'll be leaving for university soon and after the two years we've spent together, I can't help but feel a little sorrowful.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

I certainly do after experiencing it first hand, even if my love was, and still is, unrequited. I used to hope that the girl I loved would love me the way I loved her, but I've grown to realize that my feelings would never be returned. Even as I knew this, I will always remember her cherry blossom eyes, the sweet melody of her voice and the exact curve of her beautiful smile.

Thank you, Kamado Nezuko, for making my high school years sweet and memorable. Thank you for bringing color to my dull world. Most importantly, thank you for being my first love.

Farewell,

Agatsuma Zenitsu
