Today was November 12th and therefore the day we had to gather in the square for further instructions for the tournament. Yugi was as always the loving boy we all know and together we walked to the square Tea was there too. Once on the square I felt a certain tension and knew who was watching.

I looked at the ground not knowing what to do. "Yugi, is that you?" I heard a female voice calling. We looked around and saw a young woman with long blond hair and purple clothing walking towards us "Mai, you here too?" Yugi asked, apparently happy to see her. "Yep, got an invitation and I didn't want to let it go, although I'm very curious who organised this," Mai said. She looked at the group "ah, I see everyone is almost there.. Who is this pretty girl?" she asked as she looked at me. "This is Ciana a friend of ours" said tea as she put a arm around my shoulders. Our further conversation was interrupted when the big TV screens appeared and the one and only Setto Kaiba was seen on it. He started talking about the tournament and that only the best of the best were invited. The moment Seto came into view on the screen, the millennium puzzle began to glow and the Pharaoh appeared. Kaiba kept talking about how this tournament would make Pegasus's tournament look like a big joke. "The battles will be held all over the city of Domino. You will use my new invention the duel disk. You can pick up your duel disk at one of the affiliated game shops, but be on time. In a week this city turns into a battle city" Seto shouted as he hung from his helicopter. After he had his say, he looked at Yami before flying away.

"Maybe it's him you have to beat" I said but only got a look back from him I sighed once again and felt tears come to my eyes. "eeh I should go home.. eeh.. a lot of things to do" I said and before I got an answer back I had already left. 'Why is he being so mean to me? he never did that before' I ended up running home and managed to avoid everyone and enter my room unseen. I fell face first on my bed and started to cry loudly. Normally I never cry but this hurts so much. Why is he like that.

Yami pov

"What was that?" Tea asked me as Ciana walked away. Tea realized that Ciana was upset but apparently Yami didn't and seemed a bit irritated. "Nothing " I replied and decided to let Yugi take over again, making the conversation end.

Third Pov

The next day, Joey and Yugi decided to pick up their duel disk. "Yug, shouldn't we call Ciana to collect the duel disk for the tournament to?, she also had an invitation," said Joey. Yugi looked at him and shook his head. "I called her this morning, but she indicated that we had to go ourselves that she had other things to do".

"But she's in the tournament, isn't she?" Joey wanted to start the tournament with his friends and make it to the final together and looked at Yugi with hope. "I think so Joey, but lately she doesn't seem quite herself. She and Yami are not on the same page and I don't know exactly what happened and Yami doesn't want to talk about it" Yugi explained.

"Yugi, Joey!" came a voice the two looked where the voice was coming from and saw Tea coming running towards them. "What are you doing?" asked Tea. the two boys indicated that they were going to pick up the duel disk. Tea accompanied them to a game shop. The owner indicated that he had three left so the boys were lucky. Joey wanted to be the first to sign up and after the owner indicated that he did not have enough stars, Joey became frustrated and made it clear that he was frustrated. After they could hardly stop Joey from going directly to Kaiba, the owner of the shop suddenly indicated that he had enough stars and could participate in the tournament. Joey suddenly changed his behavior and was happy again.

Yugi had no problem signing up for the tournament and had five stars. The week that followed they did see Ciana and she was sometimes with the group but everyone could see that something was wrong. She wasn't the happy girl they had met a few months ago. And when they ask if something was wrong, she always indicated that she had a lot to do at home. Everyone knew something was up but couldn't do anything if she wouldn't tell them so they let it go.
