Yu-Gi-Oh: Lost Memory

Part 9

It was time for the finalists to gather in common area where the rules and the first duel would be chosen. Everyone had arrived in space except for two people. Ciana had asked Kaiba if it was okay for her to stay in her room and that they would not mentioned her name but by her number so no one knew it was her.

Everyone sat in the common room waiting to be told the rules. Everyone except two duelists where in that room. "Mister Kaiba" started Roland Seto just looked at him bored. "The other two duelists don't want to come, sir, one said you said it was okay" the man started to sweat. "number 3 on the list has my approval to stay in the room until that one has to duel" said Kaiba slightly irritated that it had to take so long, he wanted to finish the tournament as soon as possible and have the three egyptian god cards in his possession.

Roland bowed slightly to Kaiba and saw that his boss was annoyed and immediately went and stood in front of the group and asked for their attention "Everyone has been given a number and I am calling them one more time at

number 1: Mr Seto Kaiba

2: Yugi Muto

3: no name known (Ciana)

4: Joey Wheeler

5: Mai Valentine

6: Marik (Odion)

7: Bakura

8: no name know (Isizhu)

9: Namu

10: Lucas"

Roland started pulling out a device. "Here behind me we see the device randomly taking out 2 balls with a number of one of you on it. The two numbers that come out are the two duelists who are going to duel against each other." He pressed the knuckle and the machine started spinning. "Number 7 Bakura" spoke Roland and the group was worried about Bakura who was actually in the hospital after an accident. He was supposed to lie down and not to duel. But Bakura indicated that it was not a problem, only that he was excited to be the first to duel. Roland, meanwhile, continued after he heard Kaiba's comment "If he couldn't play, he didn't even belong here The second number that came out was number 2 and that meant that Yugi had to duel against Bakura. The two had to immediately follow Roland who entered an elevator with them and took them to the duel platform. The rest of the group went with another elevator.

This whole gathering was seen through a pair of eyes that sat on the muzzle out of everyone's sight. The eyes were a kind of window for Ciana to see everything that was happening. Even though she wanted to be left alone and didn't actually see anyone from that group or more the Pharaoh, she didn't want anything to happen to them. Even though she was so angry with the Pharaoh, she couldn't bring herself to think of anything happening to them. And she had a strong suspicion that something was about to happen. "Hakatama, please keep following them my friend. I would like to know what happened during the duel"

The duel between Yugi who had meanwhile turned into Yami and Bakura started. Although Yugi got an early advantage, Bakura plays "Dark Sanctuary", whose effect allows Bakura to possess one of Yugi's monsters so that when it attacks, the attack would be negated, and Yugi would lose Life Points, stalling Yugi. Bakura also plays the "Destiny board" cards, which, when all five are played, would give Bakura an automatic victory. In desperation, Yugi is forced to Summon "Slifer" as Slifer is immune to the effects of Dark Sanctuary. But before Yugi/Yami can attack Bakura he lets his vessel come back and because is vessel is so weak that if slifer atacked he would injured Bakura maby even kill him so Yugi/Yami wait but in the end Bakura takes over from his vessel again and so wins the round.

Through Hakatama's eyes, Ciana watches the duel between Bakura and the Pharaoh, but is interrupted by a knock on her room door. She looks at the door for a moment and doesn't say anything then there is a knock again "Who is there?" asks Ciana. Then comes a familiar female voice that Ciana can't place one two three "May I come in My Lady Ciana" Ciana thought for a moment and then walked to the door to open it and let the woman in when she saw that it was Isizhu. "You are a duel finalist?" Ciana asked after closing the door. Isizhu nodded "I can say the same about you My lady, although I wonder why you are here and not at the Pharaoh's side" Ciana looked at the floor and felt some tears in her eyes and sat back on her bed. Isizhu knelt before her "Have you given up on the Pharaoh?" Ciana nodded no "I haven't given up on him. It's just the words he spoke to me and what's happened between us over the past few weeks, he's not the man I gave up everything for" said Ciana, finding it difficult to say it out loud. "I made a vow and I will fulfill it, but after.. after we go our own way. I don't even know if I can go back" a tear ran down her cheek.
