Delphina Clementine, despite being a half-blood witch, was raised in a pureblood household. Her mother, a French pureblood had found out that her soulmate was a muggleborn wizard, one whom she met during the 1st year of studying at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Her grandparents had been insistent that she not involve herself with him, as he was of dirty blood, as they used to speak. Still, the bond of their soul was greater than anything else. They fell in love and eloped the moment they graduated from school.

Delphina vaguely remembers her father telling her how their love was similar to one of those muggle novels he had read before. Romeo and Juliet, if her memory was right.

It was on her 5th birthday that her father died. An accident befell him during his job as a magizoologist. Her father had always had a certain love for animals, and Delphina thinks that trait was passed onto her.

Still, it did not take long for her mother to begin fading. Just before her death, her mother took her back to her parents' manor, begging them to take Delphina in. She could barely remember that day. Her mother, who might as well be dead with how gaunt she looked as she begged her parents to take care of Delphina because she was going to die.

Delphina thinks her grandparents couldn't have refused her mother if they wanted to. She knew her mother had been the apple of their eyes, being the only child and all. They took Delphina in, just days before her mother passed away and raised her to fit their standards of a pureblood witch. And she did, forgetting the muggle blood that ran through her veins, she grew up to be someone that they wanted her to be.

However, Delphina was her mother's daughter. It was the request to study at Hogwarts that marked the first time she defied their wishes. They wanted her to study at Beauxbatons, to follow the tradition, but something had drawn her to choose Hogwarts. It was not that big of a quarrel, and her grandparents had agreed in the end.

She could see and feel the relief that her grandparents had felt upon learning that Delphina's soulmate was a pureblood, the Heir to the Ancient and Noble Clementine House. They had been ecstatic and in full support of her. Delphina had only wished they acted the same to her parents.

Maybe they would still be alive then.

Delphina was not one to dwell in her past. She would rather choose not to remember at all. She did suppose she had gotten quite lucky that William was not one of those snobby pureblood men she had met beforehand. Delphina would not know how she would bear marrying or living with someone like that. She was not a patient person.

Though, she was more than relieved when she revealed to William that she was a half-blood, and not a pureblood like she had introduced herself as when they met. He took her hand and kissed her knuckles, before telling her that it did not matter for their family the kind of blood status their partners had. He would be just as willing to be her husband, he told her. That had been the first time William saw her cry.

Today, Delphina Clementine stood in front of her husband, William, their hands intertwined together in the presence of their familiars by their side.

"I wish I could've been the one to take this job" he whispers taking his wife in his firm arms. "I do not like the idea of you facing a wendigo," he said, his voice muffled over Delphina's chestnut hair.
