People say that nothing hurts more than a broken heart, and Trent was sure of that.
He loved too much and in the end he ended up with a broken heart inside his chest. And the worst part was that he couldn't blame anyone but himself. You were his first love, when you were both in high school. Trent and you grew up together and it seemed that nothing could tear you and him apart. It was love at first time and you both promised forever in each other's arms, so why did it have to end up like that?
Trent felt like a fool watching you across the street smiling in the arms of somebody else. Maybe if he had been more honest you would still be with him after all those years since school. But Trent had been so busy with his work, forgetting that love should be watered everyday like a delicate flower.
So now, as he watched you walking down the street with your new lover, he could only blame himself because you were the girl that got away.
