Situation: Your sister Alex is watching you working as a firefighter in a dangerous situation.
~~ ❤️ ~~
You couldn't lie... The situation your team was heading to was dangerous... Really dangerous.
There was a building on fire. It all started on the second floor, but the flames quickly started to consume the other levels too. There was dark smoke coming out of the broken windows. You had seen many fires in your four years as a firefighter in Dallas, but this one was one of the worst fires in a building you had ever seen. The risk of collapsing was real, and only increased at which minute that passed by.
Still on the exterior of the building, you could hear a child crying... There was no time enough to think too much as you entered the tall building to save the child.
"Wait (Y/N)!", one of your teammates yelled, following you inside the building. "The boss is going to yell at you for this.", he said when he caught your pace.
"I know.", you simply replied. "But I'm a firefighter. It's my duty to do this."
You couldn't see, but your teammate nodded.
As you both walked side by side on the walls filled with dark smoke, you heard the kid continuing to cry out for help. The sound was louder, making you wish the kid was nearby.
Outside the building in flames, your sister Alex was waiting in the crowd that gathered around the place. Some of them were just there to look at the flames, and others wanted to help in every possible way. Some people were giving water bottles to the firefighters.
Alex felt as if her heart was frozen in anxiety and fear. She knew very well that being a firefighter was your dream since childhood and that you love it, but she couldn't stop herself from feeling scared that something bad could happen to you at anytime. She didn't want to lose you...
She was almost hypnotized by the flames as she waited for you to come outside.
"Please, let her be alright...", she talked to herself as a prayer.
And then, from inside the dark smoke, two figures emerged. One of them carried at child in his arms.
Everybody cheered as the two brave firefighters came outside. The flames were still spreading and giving no rest to the firefighters fighting them. Alex felt her heart beating again as she saw you taking off the helmet to breathe clean air.
"We did it!", you exclaimed to your teammate as he held the kid to a nurse on the scene.
"We did it!", he shouted, spinning you around in his arms.
