Chapter 4

Xiao's pov

After the cafe we really just got closer over the next few months

Tonight he's supposed to stay over at my house

And to be honest I'm excited

I got to the bus stop and Venti was already there

"Heyyyyyyy" he says

"Hi" I say

"Are you excited for our sleepover" he says

"It's not a sleepover" I say "those are for little kids"

"Then what would you call it, I'm SLEEPING OVER at your house" he says

"Youve got a point..." I say

"I know I do" he says putting his hands on his hips

I roll my eyes and get on the bus that's just arrived

The bus ride is the same as usual, people on their phone, looking out the window, sleeping

Once we got to school we all sat in our seats

"Ok so" the teacher started "There's a math project"

Everyone booed

"BUT" he said "you guys can pick partners"

Everyone celebrated

"Alright well here are your directions, write them down and get to work" he says sitting down

Venti grabbed my arm as to say that I was his partner

I open my laptop to go look at the assignment

"Who the hell invented math like this" I say

"I don't know" he says laying his head on my shoulder watching me

My face began to feel... Warm?

My brain malfunctioned and I typed "gogle classropm" instead of "Google Classroom"

"Bro how are you so bad at typing" Venti says

"Oh uh" I say quickly retyping it "Just tired that's all"

"Oh yeah my fingers get like that when I'm tired" he says laughing

The rest of the day went back pretty quickly and soon me and Venti were walking to my house

Once we arrived Zhongli greeted us at the door

"Hel- Oh it's you two" he said letting us in

We went straight to my room and sat on my bed

We had no idea what to do now that we were actually at my house

"So now what" Venti says

"I mean, do you wanna watch me play something on my computer" I say "or do you want to start the project?"

"I'll watch you play" he says

He pulls a chair up beside the one at my desk

He watches me play for hours until I feel something on my shoulder

I look over and see Venti asleep

I froze

'What do I do' I think to myself

I sit there for a moment thinking about what I should do

'I mean, I could pick him up and put him on my bed?' I think 'Maybe I could wake him up and put him on my bed'

'He hasn't even had dinner yet' I think

I try waking him up by calling his name

"Venti" I say "You need to wake up"

He wakes up and sits straight up

"Sorry" he says, getting up

"It's fine" I say

Venti's POV

We sit there in an awkward silence for a moment

Just then one of his dad's come in and tell us that dinner is ready

We both go to the dining room and sit down at the table

"So how was both of your days today" the ginger one says, I think his name was like Childe, Ajax or like Tartaglia or something

"It was good" I say

"It's was ok" Xiao says

"How are you enjoying your stay Venti" Zhongli asks me

"It's nice" I say

Once we finish we go back to Xiao's room and play video games together

"I'm getting tired" Xiao says "what time is it"

I look over that the clock

"4:37" I say

"Oh damn" he says "no wonder I'm tired"

"Yeah good thing we don't have school tomorrow" I say, laughing a little bit

"You can have the bed" he says getting extra blankets and pillows out of the closet and setting them on the floor

"No I can't just let you sleep on the floor" I say

"Why not" he says "I'm not letting YOU sleep on the floor"

"How about we both sleep on the bed" I say

"Alright" he says

Once we get the bed situated Xiao fell asleep instantly

I layed on the opposite side staring at the ceiling one of my arms extended beside me, it was the only way I could get comfortable

*30 minutes later*

I can't sleeeeepppppppp

I tap Xiao on the shoulder

"Hey Xiao" I whisper

"What" he says half asleep

"I cant sleep" I say

"I don't know what to do about that" he says

"I don't know either" I say

He rolls back over and goes back to sleep

I try doing the same but I can't, I literally can't sleep at other peoples houses. (Lmfao self projection pfffft no I would never)

Eventually I did fall asleep though

Not for long tho bc one of Xiao's dads came in telling us to get up

"Cmon sleepy heads get up" Childe says

Xiao groans in response

I get out of bed and look at the time

8:58

"Why do we have to get up this early" Xiao asks

"I planned on dropping you two off somewhere to hang out today" he says "so get ready"

"I didn't exactly bring a change of clothes..." I say

"Oh" Xiao says "Do you want to borrow some of mine?"

"If you're alright with it then yeah" I say

"Alright then" he says opening his closet "here, go crazy"

We got ready and sat on the couch waiting for his dad to get ready

He really was taking a long time....
