The story begins at Sai and Virat's conversation about getting married. Sai tries to convince him not to marry her and to leave Gadchiroli...that she would help him leave. Virat tells her that the villagers love her and would only do what's best for her, that's why he's listening to them and choosing to get married to her.
Virat: Sai, agar ye shaadi mere haan ya na par depend karte hai...to mera jawaab haan hai
(Sai, if this marriage depends on my yes or no... then my answer is yes)
Sai got angry
Sai: Lekin kyu? (She asked angrily)
(But why?)
Virat: Mujhe apna vaada pura karna hai, tumhara khayal rakhna hai
(I have to keep my promise, take care of you)
Sai: Main apna khayal khud rakh sakti hun (She said stubbornly)
(I can take care of myself)
Virat: Mujhe nahi lagta
(I do not think so)
Sai got angry but she couldn't argue back since she did end up in the hospital.
Sai thought of how she could change his mind
Sai: Aur Pakhi? Pakhi ka kya? Aap usse pyaar karte hai na?
(And pakhi? What about Pakhi? you love her don't you?)
Virat was shocked to hear her talk about Pakhi. He got upset.
Virat: Pakhi mere bhai ki biwi hai. Usse zyada kuch nahi.
(Pakhi is my brother's wife. Nothing more than that.)
Sai was frustrated
Sai: Mujhe aapse shaadi nahi karni hai. Mujhe aapke biwi nahi banna hai (Sai argued)
(I don't want to marry you. I don't want to be your wife)
Virat: Mujhe bhi tumhare pati banne ka koi shauk nahi hai Sai. Lekin mere paas ab aur koi raasta nahi hai. Tumhara khayal rakhne ke liye, tumhare zimmedari uthane ke liye mujhe jo bhi karna pade main karunga (Virat responded calmly)
(I also have no interest in becoming your husband, Sai. But I have no other way. I'll do whatever it takes to take care of you, to take up your responsibility)
Sai was upset that she couldn't change his mind
Sai: Theek hai. Aapko shaadi karni hai na, main aapse shaadi karne ke liye taiyar hoon
(Ok. You want to marry me, I am ready to marry you)
Virat was confused and surprised.
Sai: Lekin mera ek shart hai. Isse ek deal samajhlo
(But I have one condition. Consider it a deal)
Virat: Kaisa deal?
(What kind of deal?)
Sai: Main aapko apne zimmedari puri karne se nahi rokungi, aapse shaadi bhi karungi
(I will not stop you from fulfilling your responsibilities, I will also marry you)
Virat: Lekin?
(But?)
Sai: Lekin jab hum Nagpur chale jayenge, main aapke saath nahi rehna chahti. Main akela rehna chahti hun, hostel mein shayad. Main apne zindagi apne tarike se jeena chahti hun. Aapke patni bankar nahi.
