"I just wish the world came to an end"
My brother hits me softly. I look at him with angry eyes.
"What?"
"Don't say those things"
I look at the sky that is filled with hundreds of stars. Sometimes life can be pretty. Just like it is right now. Our grandparents are sitting behind us, chatting about whatever old people like to chat about. And I'm finally spending time with my brother.
"Haru, are you going back soon?"
"In a few days"
"You don't even earn that much in military. Can't you just get a job at the grocery store"
"And who will pay for your house then?"
"I will"
He hits me with his notebook. "Just study and get into that law school of yours"
"I should. That's what I promised mom"
It stays quiet between us. Maybe I shouldn't have said that.
"Let's get ice cream then" Haru says suddenly, breaking the silence.
"This late?"
"Late? It's 19:00"
"That's late"
"Lord you sound just like grandpa.."
"What did you say?"
"You sound like grandpa"
I take the notebook out of his hands and start to hit him. He starts to giggle and run towards our grandparents, hiding behind them. They start to shield him with their hands while we laugh, trying to hit each other.
Moments like this make me want to live.
Can't we just stay happy forever?
