Chapter 37

Maggie

Maaga ako nakauwi agad dahil hindi na ako nag stay sa office pagkatapos ng mga meetings ko. Hindi paren tumatawag si Sandro mula kanina pa at naisip ko nalang na baka busy den siya. Tinignan ko ren sa mga post niya at wala naman laman ito.

Nakarating na ako sa bahay at agad na dumeretso sa kusina para kumain. 

"Manang?" 

Dumating naman si manang Julie sa dining room at bumati. 

"Maggie buti nakauwi ka na, kakain ka na ba?" 

"Opo, what's for dinner po?" tanong ko

"ay, meron dito na nag padala sayo ng pagkain kanina"

Huh? 

"Kanino daw po?" 

"Kay Simon at Vinny. Dumating sila kanina dito, pati nga kami binigyan. For you daw dahil hindi ka daw makakapunta"

Awwe, that's so sweet. Napangiti naman ako at tumungo.

"Sige po, ayun nalang po. Salamat po" 

Manang brought over the tray to the table. 'Eat up, Maggie. Enjoy! :) -Simon and Vinny. PS: I COOKED IT BUNNY! -VINNY' sabi sa note na nakalagay. I smiled because of their generosity to send food pa din kahit di ako nakapunta. I opened the tray and it had spaghetti bolognese inside. I took out my phone and called Simon. 

"Simon!" I called

"Hey Maggie, are you home?" 

"Yup! where's Vinny?" Simon called Vinny and he soon joined his brother. 

"Thank you so much for the food, you guys! It's really sweet" 

"No worries, Maggie. Have you tasted it already?" Simon asked

"BUNNY I COOKED IT! SIMON DIDN'T HELP!" sumbong naman ni Vinny

"I thought you were gonna cook?" natawa naman ako

"Oo nga! but he didn't offer to help" 

"You told me, you already got this!!" Reklamo naman ni Simon kay Vinny. I watch them argue and napa subo na den ako sa pasta. 

"Vinny! It's so good!" 

Nag usap usap nalang kami habang nakain ako. We talked about how our day went but Sandro was never mentioned. It's a relief to not hear his name throughout the conversation because I don't think I'm capable to tell them what happened or else, I'll just end up crying. I was listening to Vinny about his trip to Ilocos when I hear his dad yell. 

"What are you doing here?!" 

Napatingin naman sila Simon sa gilid nila at tila nagulat. Is that Sandro?  they were still occupied by what is happening around them. I kept on eating and listening to make sure it is Sandro. I saw Simon nod his head and it seemed like the two of them were talking. 

"Vinny? is everything okay?" I called. Napatingin naman siya sakin saglit na parang natataranta. 

"Uh, yes bunny, why?" He smiled and tumitingin tingin pa din sa gilid. 

"Maggie! we have to go! Unfortunately, dad is calling us. Sorry, bye Maggie!" Simon said it in just seconds then ended the call. They're up to something and I know it. Tumayo na ako at hinugasan na yung pinagkainan ko. I looked at the clock and saw it was only 6 pm. My family is still at the office and will be coming home much later. 

I went to the kitchen to get some wine. It has been a long day! I grabbed a glass then took both of them to the pool. 

I sat down and dipped my feet into the water. I poured some of the liquid into the glass and silently drank the wine.
