I didn't feel like ringing the door bell and just opened the door with the spare key. It was all dark. She was nowhere to be seen. That was so unusual of her. Usually she'd come running towards me with her mellow smile. I walked towards the kitchen only to see no one. So, I just walked towards her room.

"She must be tired of all the household chores" I sighed out thinking about her working all day.

I saw her laying on the bed. I smiled before walking towards her. She was sleeping soundly that she didn't even realise my presence. I kneeled down on the floor to get a closer image of her face. She looked so worn out. I sighed again and slowly traced my finger over her tresses which was spread over her pretty face. She looked so pale. She looked like she had fought a battle of tears which happened to create dry patches over her face. I squinted my eyes in puzzlement.

"She cried?" How I wished I could ask her why she was crying. Unfortunately we weren't that close to share any intimacy or even any close talks. I caressed her cheeks and smiled a bit. But that smile didn't last long as I saw the caramel eyes squinting open. I didn't want her to freak out by seeing me that close to her. Also, I wouldn't usually go to her room just like that. I quickly got up on my feet before she could see me.
"O-oh when did you come?" She asked and quickly got up as soon as her eyes fell on me.
"Just now. Are you not feeling well?" I couldn't help but ask.
"No no. It was just a head ache. And it's long gone now" she said smiling. But her face didn't match her words. Her eyes were bloodshot and puffy.
"I'll heat up the food. Just wait a moment" she said while I nodded my head and saw her walking out of the room. I was about to go to my room, but a thing catched my vision. I saw a medicine strip on the night stand. Due to lack of medicinal knowledge, I had to browse it through the internet only to find out that it was sleeping pills.

"She's taking sleeping pills?" I furrowed my brows in bewilderment. Nonetheless I walked to my room to take a quick shower. I saw her sitting on the table with her head on the table. I cleared my throat catching her attention.

"Have you eaten?" I asked her before sitting.
"No. I'll eat once you're done" she said.
"It's already too late. Just eat now." I said. I didn't even say anything harsh, her eyes still teared up. I pretended to not notice it but I saw her gulping down her tears.

"She's so confusing...."  I thought but continued to eat. She picked up the dishes and walked towards the kitchen. I sat there still, observing her every movements. Her hands were shivering, small sniffles and whimpers left her mouth. I slowly walked to her direction.

"Are you sure that you're okay?" I asked her calmly.
She just nodded her head and flashed a sweet smile. I could bet she was not at all okay.
"I'll do it. Move" I said but not like she was going to allow me. So I dragged her and sat her down on the stool.
"You don't have to do. You're already tired from work" she mumbled sofly only for me to hear.
"So are you. You literally look like a dead person. I don't wanna create any bad impression on my in-laws about not taking care of my wife" I cracked a joke trying to cheer her up.
But to my unfortune she just gave me a quick smile before lowering her eyes. I was not at all enjoying that side of her. Once I was done, I saw her eyes still on the floor. She was so in her thoughts.

How I wished, I could give her a tight hug, how I wished I could kiss away her unknown sorrows.

We both respected eachother and our personal space. But sometimes I had expected someone coming to me for a warm hug right after I reached home from a tiring day, someone who'd ask me how my day went, someone whom I could accompany in cooking, someone who'd lend their shoulder for me to cry on. I just wished like any normal human being.

"I've some important works to do." I said to which she nodded her head.
"Go to sleep. You look so tired" I just couldn't help but to admit that I really didn't like to see her being dull.
"You can go out with your friends. I don't want you to sit here alone" I said.
"I really don't have any friends" she said smiling weakly.
"She has no friends? To her bubbly nature everyone would love to befriend her" I thought to myself.
"Oh. Then you can also go to your aunt's. Only if you want" I said to which she immediately shook her head.
"I don't want to" she said blankly before walking away. I knew she'd deny. I shrugged off my thoughts and got engaged with my works.
It was almost past 2 o'clock. I walked out of my room to get some water.

"She must be sleeping. Should I check on her? She won't mind me keeping an eye on her. Let's just take a peek of her sleeping face" after having a debate with my conscience, I finally decided to check on her. Even sneaking in to my wife's bedroom felt like a disgrace.
I opened the door thinking I could atleast see her sleeping face, but to my shock, all I heard was sniffles and deep breaths in the dark room. I squinted my brows together. I reached out to switch on the light. When the light went on, the view infront of me, made my eyes wide.
