Kate was 34 weeks pregnant, she was exhausted and in pain most of the time, the pandemic didn't help her situation. Most scans she went to alone, which sucked due to her inability to drive lately, buck tried his hardest to be there but work always took over.

Kate wasn't mad it about, she knew that people needed u help, she was more mad that she wasn't fighting fire herself and still had months before she could.

She tried to be grateful, but sometimes it seemed impossible.

"Your daughter is torturing me" Kate grunted, sitting down

Buck chuckled, "what's my daughter doing now?

"I've been having cramps all morning, I swear she liked doing this" Kate sighed, "that and the constant moving, I think I'll take her out myself"

Buck sat down next to Kate, "what can I do?"

"Take her out of me" Kate joked,

"Hey" chimney walked in,

Kates lodger, he didn't want to risk going home to Maddie given she wasnt as far a king in her pregnancy, Albert was there all the time but Kate was starting to wish chimney would go home

" Sanitise please" Kate said,

Chimney nodded, pumping it into his hands

"How you feeling today?" Chimney asked, dropping the small grocery bag on the counter

Evan stood up to help chimney with the groceries.

Kate tried to, but failed. Only grunting as she got to the edge "honey" she held out her hands, buck helped up - which had become a regular

"Like I want to not be pregnant anymore" Kate huffed, she felt bucks hand run along her back

Chimney pulled mint chocolate ice cream out of the bag, it was Kate's new craving, she smiled like a child and took the Spoon that buck had handed her.

"How's Maddie" Kate asked, taking a spoon full of ice cream

"She's good, or at least I hope she is. Video calls don't do much"

"Maybe you should go home" buck slipped in,

"You know it's not safe, not yet anyway" he recited, the same thing he had been saying every time it was brought up

Kate put her ice cream down, "Chim, I love having you here. I mean you shop and you bring home good food, but Maddie needs you. She's pregnant and the father of her child is the most important person"

Chimney sighed, "just not yet"

"Okay" Kate nodded, "but I need my nursery back sooner or later" she joked

Kate felt another cramp, she exhaled and leaned against the table

"What is it?" Buck worried,

"Cramp again" Kate grunted, "it's fine."

"Are you sure?" buck asked

"I'm 34 weeks, she's not done growing yet." Kate reassured

Kate closed her ice cream, having suddenly lost her appetite, she pulled out a chair and sat down

"Is there anything I can do?" Buck asked, feeling rather useless

"No I just-.." Kate was cut off, pain shot across her stomach, she groaned as it did.

30 seconds past before Kate could catch her breath, "that was definitely bigger than a cramp" she panted

"Kate was that a contraction?" Chimney asked,
