Welcome to THE EXILES, a story I started for ONC 2022, using prompt 8, and I can't believe it's shortlisted for WATTYS 2022! Holy smokes.
This story started life as a possible upper MG/lower YA fantasy with strong family themes and has now evolved to include themes that may be a little darker for the younger crowd. So now, it's more of an upper-YA fantasy with some real-life adult problems/issues being dealt with. The story is marked as mature only to keep *pirate sites* from stealing it as they have been doing with *Watt*pad* books recently. It does not have any adult-only content.
The format is unusual, but I do hope you'll enjoy this story.
