CHAPTER 12

I'm so happy Blake accepted me as her mate, I've never felt this excited to live. I work harder in school specially in her class so I can be first and then I'd graduate and take my mother's throne that's when Blake and I can assemble both our species. That's if she's okay with it of course.

I told Lexi about Blake and she was so happy for me, she warned to be careful though cause Blake has a bad reputation of being heartless and manipulative but I don't think she's like that with me and I'm happy with it, she just seems genuine with me and I can't ask for more. I'm just happy she acknowledged me in the first place.

Lately, I've been hanging out with Nala more. I told her I found my mate but I didn't tell her who it was, I know she can smell a scent on me but she didn't quite figure it out yet. It's been two weeks since me and Blake mated fully by the way and she's been asking me to sleepover more.

I was laying on the grass with Nala we were watching the beautiful sky and white clouds, it was so nice and quiet. We've been here for a couple of hours just talking about random things. I'm glad I've made another friend.

"You know Kaden, I kinda liked you when we first met" she confessed making me turn to look at her with a smile. I had a feeling about that but I didn't think much of it because I have Blake. She sat up and smiled at me but it didn't reach her eyes, I put my fingers under her chin and pulled her face up.

"Nala, when you're gonna find your mate you'll understand. It's a feeling that you'd never want to lose, it's like your heart can't handle adrenaline and just beats uncontrollably. Your body will react differently when they touch you, when you're angry they'll calm you when you're sad they'll cheer you up and when you think that your life has no meaning you'll look at them and say, now I know why I was born" I said dreamily thinking of Blake, for real she did actually give meaning to my life. I wasn't the bad kid who gets in trouble or the kid who skips class just because it's against the school law. I wanted to be better because I never want to see her disappointed in me.

"Wow..." Nala whispered with tears in her eyes, I chuckled and hugged her reassuring her that one day she'll get to feel the same way about her mate. She stood up with a big smile on her face, I helped myself up and dusted my pants.

"We should go back inside" I said, she nodded in agreement and were about to go when we were interrupted by a cold manly voice.

"Not so fast" he said staring at me with his creepy smirk that I know too well. I stood in front of Nala in a protective way, he was fast just as fast as me he kept on appearing in different places. In front of us, behind us, far away and right in front of my face.

"Your mother haven't told you about me" he whispered circling us, I sent a link to Konan and asked him to come find me. What does my mom have to do about this.

"You see a long time ago, your mother was kidnapped and taken to a fighting arena" he started, I did hear about this but it wasn't detailed. Mama Blaze was always so sensitive about this subject.

"She got beaten and lost her baby boy, your brother and of course I was behind it" he chuckled, I launched myself on him and punched him in the face. He just laughed and pushed me off of him, he ran again appearing behind Nala.

"My sister dearest Dumitra, has sworn to kill me and I am here to make her suffer and what is the best way to hurt a mother...." He said in a thoughtful face, he got closer behind Nala.

"By hurting her kid" he said slashing her throat open, I screamed no and ran towards him but he ran again and appeared a bit far. I grabbed Nala and laid her on the ground, she was choking on her blood and I tried to close the cut on her neck but her lion metabolism was slower than a wolf's so it wasn't closing. My eyes were tearing up and my vision was getting blurry to the point that I couldn't see her face anymore.

"This is all Blake's plan, don't blame me. I'm just a messenger" he laughed and ran back to the woods. What the hell is he even saying, I looked behind me where he disappeared and I saw a shadow behind a tree, then her scent hit me... No it can't be Blake. Why would she... My thoughts were interrupted by choking sounds and my attention went back to Nala.

"Nala please...stay awake. Help is almost here" I cried out, my hands were soaking in blood as I tried to stop the bleeding, I just wanted her to be okay.

"Hey! That's my sister!" A boy came running towards me pushing me off of Nala. He was kneeling in front of her trying to wake her but I couldn't hear her heartbeats anymore.

"Nala!" He screamed laying his head on her chest, I put my hands on my face in horror feeling the blood on my skin.

"You killed my sister! You crazy bitch!" He pushed me on the ground again and started punching me hard, I tried to fight him but I couldn't I wasn't in my right mind.

"It wasn't me..." I whispered, he was pulled away by someone. Konan. He kneeled and helped me sit up, I wrapped my arms around my knees and started rocking myself back and forth.

"It was h-him... He killed her" I whispered, my tears were running down my face and I couldn't stop them. They won't believe me, they never did, then I remembered Blake was here and she saw everything.

"Blake saw everything! She saw him kill Nala!" I screamed, all the students around us turned to look at someone behind them, who was Blake. I stood up and ran to her but before I can reach her I was quickly pulled back and held by two buff guys.

"Blake! You saw him! You were there, tell them please" I said hoping she'd back my words and save me from this nightmare but she just stayed quiet, she didn't look at me.

"Blake?" I said my voice cracking but she just turned around and left me there. The two guys dragged me while Konan and Kelian tried to push them off of me but they were held back as well. Why Blake...was the last thing I linked her before I was punched into darkness.
