CHAPTER 21

Dumitra

"Dumitra, I know after all we've been through we're still friends but what you're asking for is impossible..." Tiana explained, I put my head between my hands and just huffed.

"That curse was put on your family out of hatred....the queen has cursed them out of heartbreak for her people..." She said making me lean back on my seat and just stare at her.

"I don't think there's an emotion strong enough to reverse that much power...even the strongest out of our fairies can't do it..."

"I'm sorry but I don't think I can help you with this, even if I wanted to" she finished giving me a sad face. I stood up out of anger and frustration and cut her off.

"My wife is dying Tiana! My mate is slowly dying in front of me..." My voice cracked,

"You don't even want to try? You didn't even try to see if you're capable or not Tiana, you just assumed it was impossible..." After a moment of long silence, I couldn't hold my tears anymore.

"What if this was your mate? Or one of your children Tiana...maybe then you'll understand my pain..." she was about to say something but I cut her off.

"I will NOT burry my mate Tiana..." I pushed the seat and Kaden did as well. I headed for the door with Kate and my daughter behind me, I will not beg anyone. If I have to sacrifice myself for them I will do it, if the fairies won't help then I will find someone else.

The guards opened the car door and I quickly got in waiting for Kaden and Kate. I didn't say anything the whole way back to the castle, and neither did the girls and I was glad because I was only going to say something I'll regret.

I pushed the door open and was met with Blaze   who had a hopeful smile on her face, I walked past her and headed to my office, I don't want to talk to anyone at the moment. I heard her ask Kaden what's wrong and what happened and I blocked their voices and slammed my office door shut.

I don't know how long it's been but I'm sure it was very late, I heard a gentle knock on the door and Meave walked in with a small smile. I smiled back happy to see her and went to hug her, I didn't want her to know that I don't know how to help her.

"You can't hide anything from me Dumitra, I know you more than I know myself" she whispered kissing my head, I chuckled feeling my tears start to fall again. She wrapped her arms around me tighter and shushed me.

"We should just enjoy the moments while they last...with the kids and our granddaughter" she said gently caressing my red cheeks. Not knowing what to say I nodded and sniffed giving her a smile.

"I'm sorry..." I whispered, she smiled and kissed me gently.

"Don't be sorry Dum, this isn't your fault or anyone's fault" she pulled me by the hand towards the door, I just walked with her until we reached our room where Blaze was sleeping.

"She's been worried sick about you, but she didn't want to disturb you cause she knows you'll be a mean bitch" Meave said with an amused look, I rolled my eyes and took off my shoes laying next to Blaze and pulled her to me. Yeah maybe we should just savour these little moments.

A loud knocking woke me up and I groaned getting up to open the door. I swing it opened annoyed at whoever the person was. Kaden was smiling at me and I gave her a confused look.

"She came!" She said hurriedly and enthusiastically, I gave her an even bigger confused look and she pulled me out of the room.

"The fairy queen, she's here!" She yelled pulling me towards the living room. Tiana? Why is she her? She was sitting next next to Blaze on one of the couch. When she saw me she rubbed her thighs and stood up with a smile on her face.

"You're right..." She said walking closer, I tilted my head to the side confused. Why am I so confused today?

"We'd never know if it works if we don't try" my eyes widened and I couldn't help but hug her so tight.

"Thank you..." I whispered, she chuckled and patted my back. I pulled away and looked at her again, I was hopeful again...

"I can't promise you anything but I'll try my best" she said,

"And that's all I'm asking you"

We moved all the furniture around and Tiana was pulling her sleeves up, she said it was going to be messy.

"I hate doing rituals because it's always so messy" she said annoyed,

"Can you bring me a bowl please?" She asked, Kaden ran to the kitchen and quickly brought a metal bowl. Tiana grabbed a dagger and sliced her wrist making Blaze turn the other way. She put some blood in the bowl then she took some on her fingers and drew a half circle on the ground, she pulled Meave closer and asked for her hand. She slowly dragged the dagger on Meave's wrist and completed the second half of the circle with it.

"Blood of the queen and blood of the wolf...drink this" she handed the bowl filled with her blood to Meave and asked her to drink it. Without hesitation Meave drunk the whole thing, after that Tiana asked her to lay in the middle of the circle.

"Alright, I'm sorry in advance Meave." She told her and Meave gave her thumbs up and stayed still in her place.

"Let's get this over with, oh and it could either go great or horribly wrong and by that I mean she'll die instantly" Tiana explained,

"Oh wow thank you for telling me so early" Meave said sarcastically, let's hope this works....
