Chapter 25
Love is death• 👑 •
Ortiz de Rozaz palace
"Your majesty, the new Prime Minister is here." Sofia Elena coulldn't help but to smile as she stood up from her seat. She was currently at the living room of the East wing of the palace. During the hour, she's going to finally meet the new Prime Minister of the Philippines. Unlike the usual elegant dresses worn by the female royal family members, Fia was wearing a suit. She was wearing a white blouse and a black slacks. She was also wearing a black coat to complete the ensemble. Her shoes was a black stilettos coming from Christian Loubotin. Her hair was still short but for months she has been staying in the country, it grew longer too.
Pinagbuksan kaagad ng pinto ng mga royal guards ang bagong Prime Minister. Tumigil ito nang makita siya. The new Prime Minister smiled at her.
"Your majesty," Atty. Sylas de Luca greeted and bowed his head as a sign of respect. Fia giggled.
"Atty. de Luca," she uttered and the man immediately went to her. Kinuha nito ang kamay niya at hinalikan ang tuktok niyon.
"My Queen," he said. Fia smiled warmly.
"Congratulations for winning the election. You deserve it." She said and gestured him to sit down. Naupo na rin silang dalawa na magkaharap. It was always a norm for the reigning monarch to meet the newly elected Prime Minister one day after the results of the election. The next week after that, it will now be the state opening of the parliament ceremony which is also going to be attended by the monarch.
"Never in my life that I would become a Prime Minister," Sylas started. "Buong akala ko lang magiging abogado lang ako habang buhay."
Natawa naman si Fia. "Kahit ako naman, I didn't expect too that I'd become a Queen, Sylas... I really thought I'd be in Luxembourg for the rest of my life."
"Maybe everything happens for a reason," Sylas' voice became soft. "Just like when you came back in here, maybe it was destiny. You were destined to be the people's Queen. If it wasn't for you, we won't have this peace."
Natahimik naman si Fia dahil sa sinabi nito. She stared at the new Prime Minister. Then she sighed, smiling at him again.
"It was my duty to help, Sylas. I've been away from this country for years and I need to pay back for the time I lost." She answered.
"You enormously paid it," he replied. "Long may you reign."
Fia giggled and shook her head. "Ikaw talaga. Where's Amalia? Are you living together?"
