Painful Nostalgia

I ride the warm winter breeze

Into a painful summer nostalgia

Back to the scent of freshly mown grass

And warm perfumed air

The glint of sweaty bodies

Intense glow of sun on skin

And the breeze as its chaser

Back to the chatter of friendship

An unbroken community

Melted ice cream on sticky hands

A dip into the river

Inhaling the sights as we Graze

Stumbling through a wine drunk afternoon

With the promise of tomorrow

A stressful, uncertain future

A far away prospect

Because for now we are all together
