「CHAPTER 1」

[Summer, 2018]

"I love you Roy"

The faint phrase kept on repeating in Ao ZiYu's head. And that made her flinch in disgust before she distract herself by scribbling random letters on her sketchbook. She finished her work anyways

Today feels... Different. Very different.

Maybe it's because today's more sunny than usual? You know, those 'good weather' actors always portrays in the movies. And they'll be like; 'the weather's great today!' no Martha, it's scorching hot.

Did the class president forgot to take attendance? Or maybe half of the curtains aren't slide open all the way to the edge? The passing teachers would usually told them to slid it wide but maybe they didn't notice yet

Whatever it is, she feels like she's looking forward on going to school more- not because of anything in particular. It just feels extra enjoyable for whatever reason.

Or is it?

Well other than the piling homework her teacher thrown their way tho, worse is when they just had to make the deadline a day or two after giving the tasks away.

And ever since the day Ziyu confirmed her feelings- crystal clear- for her best friend, she's been having vivid dreams of him in different scenarios.

It could be the both of them, enjoying their time like they usually do- or it could be a dream of their childhood memories; that she cherish dearly, by the way.

It all felt so real, that sometimes she couldn't really tell the difference. But she kept quite about it of course, don't wanna roll our sleeves all the way up

It might be a little too early to say this, but it felt like she was smitten hard by that cheeky boy.

Is this based on fate or girls and boys really can't be 'just friends'? But if that's true, that wouldn't explain the other opposite gender friendships. Maybe it depends on the person?

She just unfortunately had to be the one who fall in love with him first. After all, they say a 'relationship wouldn't work unless the man love the woman more' and that sentences also, has been stucked in her head, and because of that she refrain herself from getting her hopes up

You might think 'wow she believe in this kind of stuffs?' well, not too sure if this is related but she's superstitious AND gullible. She try her best on not to show that side of her too much, in case some people planned to take advantage of her

She glanced over to where Wang Yuan is. He's now falling asleep on his table with his three thin stacked exercise books as his DIY pillow, drooling while doing so. He's gonna have a hard time taking the smell off that book

It wouldn't take that long for him to snap from his Dreamland before lecturer- Mr Ao smacking the boy's head

"Wang Yuan! Stand outside or go back home if you refuse to take your studies seriously!"

Mr Ao's loud yell surprised some of the other students who were so focused in their studies- but to Wang Yuan, Mr Ao's weekly scolding sounded exactly like his 4:50AM alarm clock, and so on
