The Arising

April's POV:

These past 6 months were the hardest part I've ever experienced. Nuwa got dangerously injured after the battle with King Komodo and it resulted into a coma and she's lucky to be still alive

Her grandfather, Tai-Hua was absolutely devastated after hearing what happened to his only granddaughter, the only family he has left

The Turtles and the Mutanimals constantly pay Nuwa a visit and brought her flowers, hoping for her to wake up soon. Leonardo would always blame himself for the whole thing and couldn't wait for Nuwa to wake up and apologize

And me, I placed another bed right next to Nuwa's bed, so I would always be close to her. I miss spending moments with her and hearing her laugh, hopefully she'll recover soon and I may be able to tell her how I feel

But I know that a painful recovery awaits Nuwa and we're all gonna help her through that

6 months has passed after the incident and Nuwa still hasn't woken up from her coma. Everyone came to visit her at least twice a day and would sometimes bring her flowers

April would always keep an eye on her, waiting for her to wake up. She would even sleep right next to her on another bed. Now she knew how Raph must've felt when Leo was in coma

One day at the lair, the Turtles, April and Casey were in the living room. Splinter was in the dojo, Tai-Hua was deeply devastated when he heard about Nuwa and just stayed inside his apartment for those 6 months

Donnie was in his lab, wrapping Nuwa up with new bandages and checking if everything was still alright

Then, April entered the lab while holding a bouquets of flowers. She walked up to the nightstand and removed the old flowers that had already died and placed the new flowers in it

"How is she?" April asked with an empty expression

"She's doing ok" Donnie replied

"I never even had the chance to tell her I love her and now... do you think she loves me?" April asked as Donnie wrapped his arm around her

"I'm pretty sure she does, you two are so close. Now, let's go and let her rest" Donnie suggested as they both left the lab

In the living room, the whole group sat together in silence and didn't know what to say

"Leo, how did you found out about the Avatar State? And how did you get that book from?" Mikey asked, Leo couldn't answer, because Casey spoke up

"You know what I think? I think the reason Nuwa never told us about the Avatar State is because she didn't had full control over it"

"We don't know, Casey. We must ask her when she wakes up" April sighed deeply

"But if that's the case, she could've destroyed New York more than help it, you should've seen her destroy the whole mall like it was a cart castle. Is that what you wanted?" Donnie asked as he turned to Leo

Leo just stayed silent, he felt horrible for lashing out at her and he couldn't even apologize to her at that very moment

"I... I thought that... I thought the Avatar State would be..." Leo sighed as he hung his head

"You thought Nuwa could single-handedly defeat the Kraang with the Avatar State, so the invasion never would've take place?" Raph asked

"Pretty much" Leo admitted

"But the Avatar wouldn't have known how to defeat the Kraang if it weren't for you"

They turned around to see Splinter looking at them and walking towards them
