It was only the second day of the week and Kurt notices that Blaine truly meant what he said.
Burt was really happy to see Blaine again as they met in the hospital to visit Kurt. Finn wasn't that exited to see Blaine but other than the Hummels, Finn knows Blaine only as the bad boy from school. After talking to his family Kurt made them agree to not tell Blaine about his past since he doesn't feel ready yet.
Except of that it was a pretty good weekend. Saturday Blaine went with Kurt home as soon as the latter boy was allowed to go. They watched a movie and talked. Blaine even stayed for dinner. They did the same on Sunday as well as some last minute homework.
Since Blaine spends more time with Kurt again he promised to attend school more often and start to care about homework and grades. That's also an excuse to spend more time with the other boy even tho they can't be friends in school. After dinner on Sunday even Finn had to admit that Blaine is okay.

But yesterday, back in school, Blaine changed again. He ignored Kurt and disappeared after school, escaping detention probably. Today, not better and it's only noon.

At lunch Finn sits down opposite from Kurt and starts with "We need to talk". "Sure. What's up?" Kurt asks, although he knows what or more who they'll talk about. "Did Blaine and you fight? Or did he do something wrong?" Finn asks overprotective as always. Kurt sighs "No. I know what it looks like but we agreed on being friends only outside of school.". "But why?" Finn asks, ready to beat Blaine up, because his image seems more important to Blaine than his friend. The other boy shrugs "I agreed because we just became friends again after four years and I want it to last.". And definitely not because I want to use every chance I get to feel the butterflies when I'm around him, Kurt thinks sarcastically. Then he adds "I have the feeling something bad happened to Blaine over those years and he isn't ready to open up. That's why I let him keep his image and hope we'll get closer after school. Maybe after some time he trusts me enough to open up and I'll be there for him.". "Okay, but be careful little brother. Just in case" Finn says, getting playfully hit by his shoulder from Kurt who plays annoyed "Finn for the thousand time, I'm older than you.". "Yes but you're smaller" Finn answers and laughs. "I know Blaine. I know he won't hurt me and that I don't have to be careful around him. I just need to find out what happened.".

After his lunch, before his next class, Kurt goes to the bathroom fast and meets of all people Blaine Anderson. "Anderson" Kurt nods in the other boys direction after finishing his business. "Hummel" comes back dryly from the other boy. After a short look if the two are really alone Blaine turns around to the other boy. His cold expressions vanished and replaced by a big smile "How about I come over after school? We could do our homework and watch a movie?". "Okay. But why are you here? Usually at this time you're under the bleachers and smoke." Kurt asks and sees Blaine shrugging "I try smoking less". "That's good. Oh, do you want to eat dinner with us?" Kurt now asks and Blaine nods "I would love too".
He loves the food Carol cook and sometimes Kurt helps and the food is even more delicious. Sure Blaine can cook but not that good. He practically lives for fast food or pre-prepared food.
As Blaine wants to hug his friend the door opens and a freshman walked in, making a bow around Blaine with a slightly anxious expression. Blaine wrinkles his nose and walked out without another word. Kurt dries his hands and also walked out to his next class. He fast text Blaine that they'll meet at the Hudson-Hummel house because Kurt has Glee practice and Blaine can't wait for him in school without having to go to detention.

Three weeks pass by and Kurt got used to the fact that he can only meet Blaine outside from school. Even when they meet in school it's only when they're sure that no one is near them which can be rather difficult in a public school. At home, Kurts home, they always hang out, watch movies or shows, play some games and cook or eat with the Hudson-Hummel family. When the two boys doesn't know what to watch they watch friends like they did in hospital. The fact that they always hang out at Kurts place and never at Blaines didn't bother one of the boys but they haven't really thought about it. The just enjoy each other's company, feeling butterflies from one time to another but doesn't tell out of fear the other one won't return the feeling.
The only odd thing happened in the past three weeks was as Burt asked Blaine his his parents are while sitting at the dinner table. Blaine only got slightly angry, with his walks built up again and went home. He apologized the next day but he said he don't want to talk about it.
Kurt realized at that moment that the thing that happened to Blaine had to do something with his parents but he decided not to play detective behind Blaines back since it's something that Blaine should tell him by himself without feeling pushed.
