You turned around quickly, placing a hand over your heart.
"What are you talking about Damon?"
"You don't deserve this life. You don't deserve to be caught up in this mess of vampires and witches and wolves."
"I chose this life. I chose the vampires and the witches and the wolves. I choose to be right by your side through it all because I love you."
"And I love you enough to let you go."
You shook your head, tears threatening to fall.
"Don't. Don't let me go."
"I have to."
You walked up to him, trying to grab his face, but he turned his head away.
"If you walk out that door then we are done. And if we are done, you will hurt me more then any supernatural creature ever will."
"And how's that?"
"Because you are breaking my heart!"
He looked at you, one more time, memorizing everything about you. And then he walked out the door.
