"𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤, 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨," I panicked and would do what anyone would have done in a situation like this. I defended myself. I harshly elbowed the stranger in the gut since they only put their hand on my mouth and nothing more. This action caused them to realise in pain and I grabbed the back of their hair and pulled them towards me. I locked them in a rear-naked chokehold. They were trying to get out of my grip. It's when I noticed their crutches and the bandaged left eye.

Eren fucking Jaeger.

I released him and he instantly gasped for air and coughed a couple of times. "Fuck, Jaeger. You scared the living shit outta me." I scoffed. He chuckled and looked up at me. "Looks to me, you had that figured out in a matter of seconds."

"Do you always stalk women when you're bored or are you just here to annoy me?" I asked impatiently.

"I told you, princess, I'm your one and only secret admirer," He grinned. "Enough with that bullshit. I told you, to stop following me."

"You don't really think I follow the rules," he raised an eyebrow, "Hm princess?"

Knowing that would irritate me, he started to snicker, not to mention he looked like he was ready to defend himself in case I throw a punch his way.

But I wasn't going to give in that easily. I was going to fight fire with fire.

"That's not what I said. I just didn't think you were the type to not be capable of following a single instruction,"

"Pretty boy," I smirked.

The moment I said that the look on his face was priceless. He had a look of disbelief and shock plastered all over his face with his lips parted slightly. But he quickly—almost immediately went back to that annoying cocky side of him.

"Pretty boy, I like it." He said the nickname a couple of times as if he wanted to hear it again and again and again.

"Anyway, that's not what I'm here for-" Eren started.

"Ah yes, what was so important for you to follow me into an empty alleyway and then proceed to pin me down against a wall?" I interrupted.

He cleared his throat, "As I was saying, I came to ask you if you were attending Mr Tybur's speech thing."

Why the hell would he want to know?

"Well yeah, every Titan welder and official Marleyan soldiers have to attend-"

"Don't." Eren almost yelled. "Excuse me?" "I said to not attend his speech." He repeated, now with a serious tone. Shoker.

I scoffed about how he thought he can boss me around.

"Listen, pretty boy, I'm not some kind of slave for you to order around."

"I barely even know you," I spoke without realising what I just said. Realization hit me like a brick to my face. I don't know him. So why am I here? I should leave already. But I couldn't bring myself to leave. He was like a magnet, always bringing me closer to him.

"Then why are you here?" He asked.

We both stood in silence. I was speechless, I couldn't form any words.

"You might not know me, but trust me, princess. I know everything about you." He stated in a serious tone.

I gulped. Before I could talk back he said, "The day of the speech, meet me at the bench we met. Early in the morning. Don't be late." Eren then started to walk off.

"Wait!" I reached my hand out and grabbed his wrist. He turned back and looked at me. His beautiful turquoise eyes piercing my own. Even his gaze made my heart skip a beat. What? No. Jesus Y/n shut up. I cleared my throat and said, "What do I get out of this? Missing an important speech as an official Marleyan soldier will get me into a lot of trouble."

He surprisingly laughed, "I'll stop following you. For good." I let go of his wrist and let him walk away. He turned around for a second time and said, "Goodbye, princess."

I rolled my eyes and he continued to walk away from me. I watched as his shadow, from the street lamps, disappear.

I just stayed there in the middle of the alleyway, not caring about my safety or how late it was. All that was going through my mind, was why could he possibly want me to meet up with him—risking having any severe punishments for not attending Mr Tybur's speech. When was that speech anyway? Hmm. It's the day after tomorrow. Will he even leave me alone after meeting up with him? Wait. Who said I was going anyways?

Then again, getting Eren to not follow me anymore seemed nice. But deep down inside of me, I knew I wanted to feel his presence everywhere I go. It was toxic.

I decided to go. It couldn't hurt to not follow rules sometimes. I forced my legs to move, it seemed as if they were stuck. I walked to my apartment. Throughout my walk was pure silence. No one was in the streets, no shops open. Nothing. Quite creepy if you ask me. I opened my mouth to yawn, It seemed that I was extremely tired. All the activities I did with the two kids today were very tiring. My gaze landed on the stairs that I hate so very much.

I started to climb them. I should really move. I thought as I neared the end of the staircase. I reached in my right pocket to pull out my keys, only to find it completely empty. Panic raised through my chest and I quickly reached into my left pocket and couldn't find anything but a chocolate muffin. Not what I'm looking for.

I dug into every pocked in my uniform and didn't find anything. "Fuck." I whispered as the realisation came in. I had forgotten my keys in my apartment. This day is the worst. I started to bang my foot on the door harshly and rather loudly. Which caused my next door neighbour to dramatically open her door and shout, "OI! I'M TRYING TO GET SOME SLEEP HERE!"

I stopped my banging and turned to look at her. "Ah, my apologies, Miss. It won't happen again." I bowed respectfully. "YOU BETTER!" she continued to shout and slammed her door, causing me to flinch. "Ughhhh." I looked up while my fingers pulled down my cheeks. What other option did I have? Sleep outside my door? Wait for a hero to come and save me? Fuck no. I'm an independent woman, who can take care of herself. I walked back down the staircase and sighed as it was very late and I didn't know where to go. A hotel? Maybe if I could-

My eyes landed on the mother and her baby from this afternoon trying to sleep on the uncomfortable hard ground with dirt and rocks all over. I couldn't help but feel bad. A thought came across my mind. I reached in my pocket and pulled out the chocolate muffin and walked towards them.

I gently tapped her shoulder, cautious about scaring her.

Her eyes fluttered open and she flinched. I put my hands up to show her I'm no harm as I went to give her the muffin and she just stares at me, I smile softly. She eventually brings up her slim hand and grabs the muffin. I turned around and breathed out from my nose.

I clenched my fists and started to walk. Not to a hotel. But somewhere I've been meaning to go to for a couple of days.

After a couple of minutes of continuous walking, I ended up on a friendly street. I walked up to the house and knocked three times. As I waited patiently for someone to answer, a voice in my head spoke, 'Go back home.'

What the fuck? I turned my head slightly right with wide eyes and scrunched eyebrows. Surprisingly, I turned around and began walking back home. It was until a voice stopped me, "Y/n? What are you doing here?"

Quite a short chapter, sorry about that.
