-Good Morning-

I take a peak out the window hoping to see somebody I know,

And then I spot you.

"Yeah," I hear you sigh and mumble something about some stupid sort of guy,

But shame to the shoes that made me fall for it.

'Cause it's because I'm bored, tired, and feeling a bit uninspired,

And so I complimented your shoe.

Yeah, you were laughing it off and smiled a real low and gentle sort of soft,

But it wasn't half as sweet as the light in your eyes that never quit.

'Cause you've got roots in your button up boots,

And it's obvious.

Yeah, it's delirious and the sunshine makes it so hard for us to be serious,

But I guess that's what makes it fine.

'Cause you're walking down the street with the flowers in your feet,

And it's clear you'd rather remain anonymous.

Yeah, it's chipping nail polish on such unbearable urges that you just couldn't seem to abolish,

And that's what makes you mine.

'Cause you're a stranger through the window looking back at me,

But you and I both recognize this person we don't know but see.

Scraping at the back of my shoes,

Looking around for you and your buttercup blues,

I found your love notes.

So I went to past pastures,

Drained out and drunk because of last year's

Flood of blood in the mud where I found you and your flower fletched floats.

You were writing poetry on pages of history,

When you looked up and told me I looked pretty.

Every other word you were saying made it seem like you were just playing,

And that's coming from someone paying who saw the uppercuts coming and decided on staying.

Your bubblegum baby bumblebee jamboree bumbles all around me,

Silly strangers are smiling at the words you're speaking,

But all I hear is oil leaking,

Onto your shoes and killing all of Charlie's creeping.

An invasive toxin on your invasive thoughts.

Fools are the men who thought you'd make your amend,

Only for you think we'd forget the root rots.

But I'm tired of being summertime bored and sleepy,

So I went for complimenting your sludge soaked suit that looked back at me so sweetly.

Hey stranger,

Good morning.

What's your name?
