First Sight

      Y/n stared up at the ceiling of her room with a blank look.
"They are so loud.." she remarked, barely above a whisper.
Her note was met with only the continued yelling of her parents on the other side of the door. She looked over at her plush owl before sitting up in bed. Getting up, she walked over to the window and unlatched it, and swung it open slowly, feeling the cool breeze waft into her room. She looked up at the bright moon and admired it for a moment before sweeping her eyes over the line of trees that bordered the forest nearby. Her gaze fell on a dark figure standing among the trees. Something about it captured her interest and brought her a brief sense of peace. She raised her arm and waved gently as a soft smile formed on her face. When the figure slipped out of sight her smile faded slightly, and she put her hand down on the window sill to look back up at the moon.

    Toby's POV:

   I leaned myself against a tree on the outskirts of the forest, catching my breath. The small click of a window caught my attention and I looked over to see a beautiful girl, dressed in a simple silky white night gown.
Her slightly messed up (h/c) hair fell just past her shoulders in a careless way. I couldn't help but admire her as she looked up at the moon, bringing a small sparkle to her dim (e/c) eyes.
Her gaze fell, and swept across the treeline, landing on me and I flinched and a light pink tone appeared across my cheeks as she waved gently in my direction.
I backed up and slipped behind a tree, blushing madly.
"She's so pretty-" I stated in a whisper to myself.
"She probably thinks I'm a creep.." I realized, peeking back around the tree to see she had gone back to looking up at the sky.
"I wonder if I should have waved back..." I thought to myself.

   A distant sound of arguing raged on from behind her as she looked up with her dim eyes.
Suddenly, there was a loud noise and the girl flinched, whipping around to face inside her room, terror filling her face as she was ripped away from the window by a rough yank at her arm. The window was slammed shut by a middle aged man with an angry face. I stood frozen in place as the last thing I heard clearly was a woman's voice pleading the man to leave the girl out of it.
Muffled yelling dragged on from the house, before the front door slammed and a car started up.

  After what seemed like forever, I slowly left the cover of the trees and ran over to the window, pressing myself against the wall next to it. I peeked around and into the window to see the girl clutching her knees against her chest on the floor of her room. Her eyes emotionless as they slowly dripped clear tears. The moonlight was the only thing lighting her room a dim blue. I flinched at the sight and slammed my fist against the wall of the house, silently cursing myself.
"Don't worry princess... I'll protect you next time..." I promised in a low voice as I looked up at the moon she had been admiring earlier.

   Hello! This is a new book I've been working on for a while now! I'll post new chapters over time (This chapter is kind of short ik- srry) ~ Also, Ik it'll be a bit "Cringey" but tbh I don't care - I really like what I've got so far and I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it and coming up with plot :)
