Scarlett's pov:
This last two weeks have been amazing but crazy.First it was my little girl's 8th birthday. The 24th Sofí had her birthday breakfast and we just had some cake late afternoon, which yeah maybe is not the healthiest but nothing bad is going to happen. She finally got the big gymnastics mat she has been asking for for so long so she was the happiest. Then it was time for presents, she finally got the big gymnastics mat she has been asking me to buy for her. A lot of people on set gave her little gifts, that was very sweet of them. The other actors, Sofía's uncles and aunt, really spoiled her as much as they could. She got from clothes to toys, to a little photo album and a floor beam, that Evans and Downey obviously bought for her. I swear the next time there is a mess on my house because of all their presents I'm gonna make them clean it up.
That next saturday the two of us went to have a nice brunch. Sofía had never been to a brunch and now after trying the eggs benedict she wants to got to brunch every single day. Then we had the whole afternoon for our selves, and in all honesty I had nothing prepared for her, I had no clue of what we could do but she was the birthday so why not let her pick.
I thought she was going to maybe want to go to the park or I don't know somewhere like that, but no, she chose to get her ears pierced.
Sofía didn't have her ears pierced, she never got them pierced when she was a baby. She has always said my piercings look very cool and that all my earrings are very pretty, but she had never told me she wanted to use earrings so I never pushed her to. I mean why would I? Wheter she wanted earrings or not, that's her decision. So it took me by surprise when she asked with such hope on her voice, but I simply asked her if she was completly sure she wanted them and she said yes.
I first had to call to make sure it was fine for her character to have earrings, this because sometimes the director or someone else wants the character to look a certain way for the mvoie, but they said it was totally fine. Then it came the explaining to Sofí that they piercer was going to use a needle. I decided to take her to an actual good piercing place, where they would do it with a needle and not with a gun. I had bad experiences with piercing guns when I was a teenager and I was not going to put my child through that.
I was very prepared to have a crying Sofía in my arms the minute she saw the needles, but she didn't cry for some reason, like she even said ~Oh it didn't hurt at all, I didn't even felt it Mama~ when the needle was still on her ear! Is it normal to cry for a needle when it for some sorth of medical reason but not when it's for a piercing? Seriously asking.
She did cry a bit the first two nights but not because it actually hurt but more because she couldn't lay that easily on her side without it been uncomfortable, but then it was resolved by using an airplane neck pillow instead of the normal pillows. Now Sofí has earrings and she likes to show them off. I'm prepared for having my earrings "borrowed" and then them magicaly disappearing.
Right now we are on set, but not for the Avengers, not for Marvel, but for Sofí's movie. I'm so so happy and proud of her.
Sofía's pov:
I'm on my first day of work! It's weird saying I'm working because I'm only 8 but it's true, it's my first day working. Also... I'm finally eight and I have earrings!Today Mama and I had to be on set at 8 am, well I had to be here at that time but Mama is gonna be here with me for the first week, then either Uncle Hunter, Grandma or Auntie Venessa are going to be with me the second week cause Mama has to go back to New Mexico.
When I first got here they took my name and then they gave me like a bagde that says my name, my character's name and that I'm allowed to walk around set. Then I went to hair and makeup. I liked that they didn't actually put makeup on me because Mama had told me that a lot of times it doesn't really matter if you are a kid, they will still put makeup on you, but they just put some blush, they curled my lashes and then for final touch a lipgloss. For hair they did my hair in two pigtails, and today my hair was not cooperating so it was a bit hard for the hair stylist to manage it but she told me she was used to it so not to worry, and at the end it look amazing.
Now we are on the main set, after waiting for like 30 minutes when we ate some of the fruits Mama brought. Everybody who is working today is in here alonside the producers, writers and the director. Apparently they do this everyday in the morning as like a starting meeting to make sure everybody is on the same page.
~Good morning everybody~ the director said, his name is Michael. I didn't know how to call him at first but he said everyone, no matter the age, should call him just that, Michael.
~As usual, just to tell you all to have a great day and focus and do your best but also have fun cause we don't like grumpy people in here~ he said, looking at all the kids on set while saying the last part.
Then people clapped and said "good luck" or "good day" and more like that.I was on the first scene today, so I walked to where they told me to. I hadn't met anybody I was going to be working with, so I was nervous to say the least. I was waiting there with my new manager, Allison; Mama had to go answer a call, so it was just the two of us.
I met Allison months ago, but she was not my mamager in that moment. She is a friend of Marcel and Mama's manager, so she is someone of trust. She officialy became my manager like two weeks ago, after my birthday. She is very nice and funny to be around, and she helps me understand and remember what I have to do while on set and she knows to hold my hand when I feel nervous or anxious. She is young but she is seems very mature.
~Okay we need Penny, Emma, Margaret and Arnold in here please~ someone called outloud.
~Come one miss Penny, duty calls~ Allison says to me lighting the mood a bit. This scene consists on a normal family dinner. Mom, dad and their two daughters having roasted chicken for dinner. Then we all start talking about what we did that day, it's supposed to be friday. We, the two kids, talk about school; mom talks about her work and then dad starts talking about his adventorus day, which is the funny part of the scene.
We do the scene like 4 times because it has to be perfect, also the second time Anthony, who plays the dad, almost chocked on his water.
After that they tell us to take a five minute break before moving into the next escene. I was so focused on the acting that I didn't notice how long I've been here, almost two hours! But that's mostly because of all the waiting between takes.
I love acting! Even if it's on sundays!
Hi!
Fun question cause why not: If you could act with someone (not marvel related), who would you want to act with?
I think I would like to act with either Margot Robbie, Anne Hathaway or Johnny Depp, they all seem like cool people.
I wrote this while not paying attention to last 30 minutes of my parasitology lab class so I hope is not that bad.
Hope you enjoy it!
Stay safe <3
