"Cool. Anyways I'd like to ask some questions if ya divn't ("don't" in northern) mind?" I asked.

This was replied with a mixture of sighs and groans from the hunters, and a confused look from Thalia.

"Not one to be easily impressed are you?" Said Thalia.

"Nah, not really. So, question one: Why do you guys hate me?"

I was suddenly surrounded by a chorus of "Because your a boy" by the high majority of the hunters.

"Ok... why?"

Helen spoke up. "Members of the hunt must have sworn off any romantic relations to join. Most of us accepted those oath because we have, in the past, suffered at the cruelty of men. So most of us despise them."

"Right. Sexist, but understandable." This received some glares. "Second question (well, third): why does my body feel like it's been thrown on the campfire?"

"Because we tried to give you some ambrosia." Blurted out the ginger hunter.

"Ok, and who are you?" I asked

"I'm Ginger." She replied.

"Yeah I can see that."

She looked angry. "No! That's my name, Ginger!"

I struggled to hold in my laughter. "Wow, you must have hated your parents for that."

She looked down, sad. "I don't know them..."

"Oh." "Well fuck. Awkward." I thought. "Um, sorry? Changing subject! What's ambrosia?"

I took a minute for the hunters to recover. The blonde hunter chose to answer.

"Ambrosia is the food of the gods. It's also used as healing food to be used when someone gets injured in battle. Demigods can consume it, but if they have too much it can make them feverish and mortals cannot eat it at all without it,and I quote, "turning their blood to fire and bones to sand"."

"So how am I alive?" I asked.

"We stopped as soon as we realised you were smoking and washed it out with some water."

"Reet then... so demigods! I assume that's you lot?" I continued. "As your lieutenant said that she's the daughter of Zeus."

"We'll not all of us," said Helen. "Some of us are mortals or nature spirits."

"Ah, like a dryad, like Lily."

"Who's Lily?" Asked Ginger.

"A friend." And I ended that there, in a rather harsh tone. I shouldn't be telling them too much.

This received some angered and suspicious looks from the maidens. I decided that I've had enough and stood up.

"Cheers for your hospitality but I should get going, so if I can have my stuff back that would be great."

I held out my hand for my equipment, but none of the hunters made any motion to return it to me. In fact, a few started to reach for their knives. So I reached for my own, well, the ones that they missed (I have a lot of knives).

Thalia decided to break the tension.

"Do you mind telling us how you've managed to process our enchanted metal into functional bullets? As far as I've heard, children of Hephaestus have only succeeded once, making a shotgun that still only has a one-in-ten chance of exploding in your hands."

I thought a bit before answering.

"And why should I tell you?"

"Because your surrounded, unarmed and outnumbered."

I thought a bit more before finally making my choice. I looked up to the girl that I saved, Chelsea, in a serious look.

"Hey kid, ya might wanna look away for this."

Her eyes widened as she got the message, I'm about to do something and don't want her to be harmed. I turn to stare at the hunters around me.

"Aight, I guess i've got no choice. But can I say something before you lot jump me?"

The blonde hunter narrowed here eyes.

"And what would that be?"

I smiled a rather evil smile. Pulling the pin on my little present, dropping it, before covering my ears.

"Flash out."

There eyes widened as they saw the surprise hit the ground. I closed mine.

And Hades broke loose.
