Two dimly lit lanterns cut through the dark yet whimsical forest in a slow swaying gait.

The soft glow from the fire illuminated the way allowing two men to conduct a manhunt even at such a late hour.

Any log pose or clock in the area would've read a quarter till two in the morning yet they still pressed forward. One person in the search party was beyond frustrated he was out in the first place and only participated because it was absolutely necessary.

Killer made his and majority of the crew's thoughts known to their captain earlier in the day but was ignored.

It was not ideal for them to stay docked on Sabaody for another day but since when did Kid listen to reason? Normally he did, but recently things went in through one ear and swiftly out the other.

On an average day Kid was attentive and aware of things around him. He liked being up to date with world events, even if they didn't particularly interest him.

Those events could include any movement within the black market or underworld, hence the reason he attended a human auction for no other reason but to observe.

Those who knew Kid best knew he had brains and brawn but chose not to reveal his intelligence to others.

He only stuck his nose into things he felt confident in and so far that methodology hadn't failed him. Yet.

He deserved more credit than he was given but recently everyone could admit, Kid was not himself.

At first they didn't acknowledge the obvious red flags but when one late night turned into two and morphed into four, followed by a few crew mates witnessing Kid talking, no more like arguing with thin air, suddenly it wasn't just odd behavior they could sweep under the rug.

Something was wrong.

Heat wanted nothing but the best for his captain and that meant ensuring Kid got a healthy dose of sleep to keep the ship and its inhabitants alive and bound for the New World.

This past week the crew was disorganized like sitting ducks and it was mostly in part due to Kid scraping by with mere hours of sleep.

Something or rather someone was keeping the redhead up at night and thus effecting his sleeping schedule and attitude.

After a secret crew meeting it was decided that Killer would take charge until something was done about their captain's problematic behavior.

However things were looking up when Kid emerged from his quarters appearing to be well rested and acting like the most normal version of himself since they had docked on the island. He sat on deck and was going about his daily routine with the others so Killer decided it was the perfect time to discuss leaving.

With a deep breath he approached the table to talk some sense into his leader. Although talking with his captain didn't take long, Killer quickly discovered the problem at hand.

The crew's fears turned into a reality when he reported  back about how the same girl they encountered days ago at the auction house had somehow bewitched Kid.

It was the only explanation for Kid's decision to remain on the island and for his nightly escapades off the ship.

The masked blonde tried educating his long time friend about their situation and the worries of those on board but met a brick wall.
