That Damn Necklace

      Staring at the page you look at the Viking script hoping you'll magically understand it. "One must what?! How- how do I-" you stop mid-sentence. You can't believe it just stops, whoever was translating this was cut off halfway through. You can't hear anything over the pounding in your ears. You grab your phone and call up Klaus. "Little Salvatore! Enjoying your light reading?" You could hear his smile on the other end. "Klaus, have you read the grimoire you gave me?" The words spill out of your mouth so fast they sounded like one long word. "Love, you'll have to be more specific a gave you quite a few." Already frustrated you near shout back down the phone but instead you take a deep breath. "The one about werewolves and the werewolf curse."

      "No, Love. I haven't read through that one bit of a sore subject. Why? What did you find?" His curiosity was tangible through the phone. "I found a way to reverse the werewolf curse. Or well almost did. There's these handwritten translations in the margin of this grimoire; but it stops right before it tells me how to do it." Your frustration is clear, even you can tell. "I'll bet that was Kol translating it. I must have daggered him before he could finish. Listen little Salvatore I'll have Rebekah come and see if she can help you translate it. I have to go, evil hybrid plans and all but I'll see you soon." You just get in a goodbye before he hangs up.

       You suddenly can hear things being moved and pushed around in the house. You followed the noise and found Bonnie and Caroline in Damon's bedroom. "Oh good! You are here! Listen, remember Elena's necklace?" Bonnie says quickly upon seeing you. "You mean Rebekah's old necklace? Yes." You respond not meaning to correct her but in your mind you remember it more of being Rebekah's. "Yes! That one. Do you know where your brother would hide it? We have to find it to get rid of the ghosts, like Mason Lockwood, so they don't hurt anyone else." Bonnie explains while Caroline is still tearing apart the room. "I know a few of his old tricks but no promises it's there." You say joining the hunt. First you look in the soap dish as that's were he hid the moonstone. Nope. Next you check up in the fireplace a bit. Nope, not there either. You go to the next spot which he's done since you were children. Third board back from the fireplace and five boards to the left. You lift it to find a few old pictures and older pieces from childhood. You see the horse figurine you bought him back when you were 7. You were touched he had kept that. Shaking your head you remember the issue at hand and there was no necklace tucked into the floor. "That's all the places I know but I'll keep checking." You say continuing to looking around. "I'm going to call Elena." Caroline says before taking out her phone. "So the necklace isn't where Damon said it would be and now we can't reach Damon." She quickly explained to Elena. You could hear Elena faintly from the other end. "Listen, I need you to get Bonnie to hold off on sending the ghosts back."

     "What?! But you said you were in full support of getting rid of them." Caroline said incredulously. "I was. I am. Look, Lexi's here and she's helping with Stefan." You're torn as she says this because as a sister you're so happy Stefan can get some help. On the other hand as a sister to Damon you want these ghost gone so they can't hurt him or anyone else anymore. "Okay, let's just find it first and then we'll choose between boyfriend ghost dramas." Caroline says before hanging up. Bonnie's head turns at this. "What are you talking about?" Caroline's eyes widen slightly. "Um...Lexi's back, so Elena wants us to hold off on destroying the necklace." She explains but her voice got softer every word. As if she's afraid these words will break Bonnie. "You said boyfriend dramas. Plural. What is it, Caroline?" Bonnie asked as Caroline started to fidget not fully wanting to tell her but also didn't want to lie to Bonnie anymore. "Elena caught Jeremy kissing Anna."

     "What?" Bonnie's voice was soft. Your heart broke for her. "I'm sorry." You and Caroline both say. "He kissed her?" Bonnie's voice cracked. You walked over and hugged her unable to take it. "She's got a foothold now, so she probably thinks that she's here to stay. But you, Y/N, and I, Bonnie, we're going to find that necklace. Okay? Okay." Care said before walking over and hugging her with you. You all began searching and searching hard. "Ok that's it! It can't be anywhere in here!" You groan, frustrated with everything. Suddenly Bonnie's phone buzzes and lights up with Jeremy's face on it. She looks at you and Caroline. Caroline walks up and grabs the phone from Bonnie. "What do you want, Jeremy?" She says rolling her eyes. "Caroline? Did you find that necklace?" He asks and you can hear he's slightly frantic, like something just happened. "Not yet. Wait, what's going on?" You can see Caroline grow concerned. "Ghosts of the tomb vampires killed Tobias Fell. You might want to find that necklace before they start going alphabetically through the founding families." Jeremy says. "Well, it's not where it's supposed to be. Unless someone took it." Caroline accuses. "Who?" God this boy is clueless, you rolled your eyes. "Well, who do you think?" And her implication must have finally gotten through to him. As you hear him "She says she didn't take it." You can pretty much feel that collectively all three of you rolled your eyes. "Oh, and you believe her?" Caroline asks with her eyebrows nearly in her hairline. "You know what, yeah, yeah, I do believe her." He says defensively. "You know what, you're an even bigger idiot than I thought. So wake up, Jeremy, before you lose everything." Caroline shouts before hanging up. You turn to Bonnie. "I'm sorry Bonnie. He's an idiot." You say wrapping her in your arms again.

     You all move to Bonnie's car knowing you will get nowhere until Anna gives up the necklace. After about maybe half an hour Caroline's phone rings. You can hear Jeremy say he has the necklace. "Jeremy's got the necklace. He's going to meet us at the witch house." She says informing Bonnie. "Okay. What's going on up there?" She says slowing down. You see a car crashed into a tree by the side of the road. A woman is inside unconscious in the driver's seat. "It's Mrs. Lockwood's car." Caroline says leaning forward to get a better look. Bonnie slams on the brakes when a man walks across the road in front of her, heading for the car. Other people also start walking toward Mrs. Lockwood's car. "Bonnie? I'm going to get out of the car." She says as she unbuckles her seatbelt. "What?!" Bonnie says looking at her as though she's lost it. "And you're going to drive yourself and Y/N the hell away from here." Caroline continues as if she hadn't heard Bonnie. "No way! I am not leaving you!" Bonnie says protectively. "Bonnie, you've got your ghost boyfriend drama. Elena has hers. And right now the mother of mine is about to be ghost bait. So go and send them all back to the other side, okay?" Caroline gets out of the car before Bonnie can protest more. "Bonnie come on the faster we do this the faster she'll be safe." You say, Bonnie looks at you in the mirror and nods before hitting the gas and driving away.

     You and Bonnie pull up to the old witch house and head straight for the basement. You find an older woman waiting. "Grams." Bonnie says warmly but is clearly upset and wanting to talk with her. "I understand dear but we don't have much time. You're friends will be here for you. Just like Ms. Salvatore here." She says and you're shocked. "You know me?" She nods and smiles. "Emily tells me you've turned into a wonderful and powerful witch in a short amount of time. And of course other witches talk as well." She explains and that's when it hits you. The voice you hear this morning was Emily's. Suddenly Jeremy walks down the stairs holding out the necklace. "Bonnie." Bonnie gives him a cool look before taking the necklace from his hand. She turns around and throws it into the fire. Her and her grams hold hands and start chanting and then each hold a hand out to you. You join and slowly pick up on the chant. You look and see the necklace has pretty much melted the whole way. "You are stronger than all of this. I'm so proud of you." Bonnie's grams says right before disappearing. You see tears rolling down Bonnie's cheeks. "Call me if you need me." You say giving her a hug knowing she'll need some time. You walk out and brush past Jeremy.

     After leaving Bonnie you walk for a bit realizing she was your ride and you'd have to walk the whole way back home. Suddenly a car is coming up behind you and honks. "Hey need a ride? I'm actually about to go see your brother if you want to come." Looking into the car you see Ric. "Yeah, that would be great actually!" You hop in and Ric starts driving. "Where are we heading?" You ask after a few seconds. "Apparently Mason Lockwood was showing you brother a hidden area in the old Lockwood cellar. Even the ancient Lockwoods hated vampires." He explains.

     After arriving you let Alaric and Damon talk for a bit giving your brother a chance to apologize for the third time today. Once they finish you and Alaric walk into the cave Damon can't get into and see a bunch of carvings on the wall with some Viking script again. But you notice one marking in particular, you just burned it. It was the design that was on that damn necklace.
