The day that Five disappeared, we hardly saw Zero.
As he had left the dinner table she had run after him - but even she couldn't catch up with the boys ambitions and naive determination. And I became sure that he had taken half of her hopeful heart with him, leaving her with a gaping wound in her chest that all of us could see.
She didn't come back until late that night. I had been sat there with the lights on for Five's return, just in case, and had asked her where she had been.
She said she was out looking for him.
She did that a lot in the weeks after.
But after six months of him being gone, she eventually stopped.
