Here're some examples of commonly used tags & what they imply!
◍ /j & /hj :: joking & half-joking
These should be used when others find it difficult to understand that if you are joking or serious.
/hj should be used when the joke is a joke but also partially true. For ex, "I hate mushrooms /hj."

◍ /srs & /gen :: serious & genuine
These should be used when you're indicating that youmeant what you said or that you are not joking about it. For example, "I'mcrying /srs" & "why is this offensive /gen" It also can help to show youaren't being rude.

◍ /pos & /neg :: positive & negative
These don't need to be used very often, but should be used when it's not clear what you are saying is negative or positive. For example, "IM SOBBING /pos" or "why do you guys keep ___ /neg"

◍ /nm & /lh :: not mad & light-hearted
These could be used to show that you are not angry/upset about something. For example, "please don't do it again /nm" or "shut up /lh"

◍ /hyp hyperbole
/hyp (hyperbole) these could be used to show that you are exaggerating about something. For example , "I can easily do a million push ups /hyp"

◍ /rh or /rt :: rhetorical question
These questions could be used to make a point across or make an dramatic effect without seeking an answer. For example, "Is this a time to be arriving at home? /rh" Here, the person knows the answer to this question but just wants to make a point across.

◍ /Nbh :: nobody here
These could be used to show that you are not talking about anyone there or anyone there in particular. For example, "I hate being ghosted by friends. /nbh"

◍ /m :: metaphorically
These are used to show that if something is referring to a metaphor. For example, "She is sweet as honey. /m"

Do not mock the use of tone tags. You may not need them but some people do. Not everyone can tell when something is a joke, etc. Just be nice about it. Using a tone tag isn't an excuse to be mean. You can't say something not cool and then put /j (joking) after it to get away with it. Be nice.
