-vocabulary-
suli- old
ona- he, she, it, they
ona is a third person pronoun; it means it, they, she, he, them, her and him.
instead of the typical [subject]+[verb/noun] construction, which is used with 'sina' and 'mi', the 'ona' construction goes something like this;
[subject]+[li]+[verb/noun]
'li' is a particle, and precedes the predicate (verb/noun).
Let's look at a few examples:
ona li jan pona.
He is a good person.
ona li tomo suli.
it's an old structure.
Translate:
It's good food.
In the opinion of me, she is an old person.
It's cold.
This is the only difference between 'ona' and 'mi/sina'; the 'E' rule is the same for both of them. For example;
ona li moku e moku pona.
They're eating good food.
ona li jo e tomo lete.
She has a cold structure.
