§ Double-Edged Sword §

46 4 5

The one detail
It made us that much different
Its destroyed our mountains
Dragging us into the jails
Guarded by their demons

I might be considered lucky
That i am too young to recall
But it doesn't stop the others
Who are cursed
With memories
Of what it was like
When our salvation
Became our hell

From what i can tell,
The present
Isn't any different

Those who swore to protect us
Constantly weaving a web of lies
The lifeless look in the eyes
Of those who have witnesses the unthinkable
The skinny bodies of children
Who's chance has been stolen
By those who share the same desperation

Just wanting to erase the poison from
The suffering
The pain
The fear
And the memories
Of what has fallen

It was first the maze
That came to greet us with open arms
The twisted language
The distasteful food
The broken faith
And the selfish foxes
Who call this place home

Soon to be followed by the day
When people scattered
Glass was shredded
Towers crumbled
And the flaming ashes of the innocent
Filled the air

Awakening eyes
To the unnecessary lies
That i will never forgive

The lies that were chained
To the blade
Full of torturing words
And untrustworthy lies

Leaving me to scream the truth
But their ears already deaf
And eyes blinded
To the dancing colors of our past
And what it was like before
The word "Kurdish"
Became our double-edged sword
