Chapter 20 - Keep You Forever

I was discharged the next morning. Honey came to walk me back to my cell.

Honey: "Told you you'd be fine."

I gave him a nudge and smiled. We had just left the infirmary when...

Kiji: "I was just coming to see you two."

Alison & Honey: "Kiji, you're back!"

I tried to run to him, but I tripped over myself. Kiji caught me and I hugged him.

Kiji: "I'm glad to see you're doing better, 41."

Alison: "I'm sorry... I'm sorry I got you in trouble."

Kiji: "Tell me you haven't been beating yourself up about that, dear."

Alison: "Mm..."

He put his hand on my head and I looked up into his face.

Kiji: "Go on back to your cell now."

I smiled.

Alison: "Kay!"

Honey: "Come on, you."

I took his hand.

Kiji: "Honey."

Honey: "Yes?"

Kiji: "Alison deserves someone who will love her and keep her safe. Take good care of her."

His eyes widened before he nodded.

Honey: "I promise."

Kiji smiled and kept walking. Honey and I continue on to my cell.

Alison: "What did Kiji mean by that?"

He froze in place. I turned to face him.

Alison: "Hon?"

Honey: "Uh..."

Honey: 'Not here.'

He smiled and, without warning, put his hands behind my knees and picked me up like a koala.

Alison: "Aah! Honey, haha, what are you-?"

Honey: "I can't trust you to walk back to your cell without tripping over yourself every few feet."

Alison: "Hey, I can walk!"

Honey: "It's okay, I've got you."

I giggled as he kept walking.

Alison: "Come on, put me down. This- this isn't funny."

Honey: "Then why are you laughing?"

I admitted defeat and decided to just let him carry me. I rested my cheek on his shoulder and stared at the heart on his neck. Again without warning, he turns his head and kisses my lips. I buried my face in his shoulder as my cheeks turned bright red.

Alison: "Mmmm! Cut that out!"

Honey: "Heh, it's cute when you get flustered like that. Reminds me of when I first met you."

Honey: "Well, you seem cute, for starters."

Alison: "Uh- cute?"

Honey: "Hm, especially when you blush like that."

I turned my head back and poked his cheek.
