- y/n's pov -

i slowly open my eyes to see wu jin and su hyeok blocking my vision. "oh she's awake." "she's awake." i feel very dizzy.

i look to my right to see ha ri staring at me. "where's mi jin?" i asked with my eyes fully opened now. i saw ha ri's gaze moving to the top of my head without saying anything. i turned my head a little to see what she's staring at and finding mi jin looking at me that is laying on her chest this whole time.

i widened my eyes as i quickly get up from her with a clueless face, holding my breath. "your ass fainted on me." while pouting her lips. "sorry." i replied while clearing my throat. "why did i randomly faints?" still trying to catch a few breaths in. "cmon, we consume nothing for the past few days. we're lucky we're still alive--but still, nothing is working out. we keep hitting fucking dead ends." everybody including me got back to our original spots, mine's between ha ri and mi jin. "be quiet. it's your fault joon yeong died." i lightly scoffed to dae su's response. "hey, stop it." i rebuked him firmly.

"if you hadn't bitched him up earlier, he wouldn't have jumped out there." he ignored my replied. "fucking prick." i mumbled under my breath. "fine, it's my fault that he died. happy? are you happy, asshole?"

"give it a rest, all of you--hey dae su, what does it matter who's responsible for someone living or dying? what does living or dying even mean? i have no idea. if we get out of here, is that living?" wu jin lectured "our friends died. our moms and dads died. what's the point of living." he finished saying what he wanted to say. "then will you die? have you tried being seniors? do you even know how it feels to want to die?"

"is it some badge of honor?" dae su grumbled. "you try being one. you'll see what it's like." i don't know what this woman have been through in our senior year, but it sounded rough. "you juniors, better survive until next year to see what it's like being seniors. okay?" she paused, "survive until next year and tell me which is tougher, zombies or senior year."

i saw ha ri poking on jo when mi jin's finishing her sentence. "your father...he saved all of us. i'll never forget it as long as i live. none of us will." she paused, "if someone is remembered by many people, that person..goes to heaven." the genuine soft voice she have is what making me started tearing up. i'm not in on jo's current position nor have i saw my parents become monsters in front of me. i don't even know where my father is right now and not expecting him to look for me at this state.

my mother passed away when i was 9 years old. my dad have been taking care of me since then, but that's also probably why he left me by my own. i have no idea where he went. he just disappeared. and finding a job at such a young age to keep myself alive without parents by my side.

life weren't good for me before this tragedy. there's no differences.

on jo shed another tear to ha ri's talk while turning her head back to position. "y/n, mi jin. let's go." she spoke mentioning our names while getting up from the ground. i flashes a confuse look, "where? why?"

"let's look for a spot we can jump off from. we're the seniors." said ha ri. "whatever. it's not like they show us any respect." offends mi jin. "i'll go this way," she points to our right "you both go that way." mi jin let out a sigh while getting herself up. reaching her hand down to me a moment later.

i took the hand as a sign of her helping me get up. i smiled slightly down to her 5'4 figure before we both walks off to the left. "i'll go." su hyeok stands up, blocking our way. "stay down." mi jin responded. "no." she got her hand on su hyeok's arm, try pushing him back to his spot but he wasn't moving at all. mi jin then took a quick glance up to his face, "why, you.." playfully threatening to hit him before he started flinching. the blank expression of not able to do anything on his face made me laugh.

we carefully walk around the whole balcony, searching for a possible place to jump. "shit." cursed the woman in front of me from the groan zombies sounds, leaning down every time we past a window. thoughts from earlier suddenly pops up in my mind.

"are you jealous of me?" y/n turned her head away from mi jin. "no. i'm jealous of the guys you're paying attention to."

"mi jin." i called her name. "yeah?" she answered without turning her head. "i wasn't paying attention to any guys, you know." a clueless look is shown on her face. "wha-" she cut herself off before showing an understood expression to me. "i was never paying attention to guys--didn't even think i have any kind of attraction to them." mi jin sighed to what i said. "me too--but forget it. let's find a way to jump so we could escape and survive together." i stayed silent to her response for a bit.

"you might be the only one left that i hav-" i paused, "that matters to me, so stay alive." i'm aware that she isn't mine. liking eachother doesn't mean anything.
