heavy breathings were lightly heard as the kids began walking their way finding an exit out of the woods. ha ri was at the front, y/n was walking behind mi jin with the others behind her too. "careful, slowly." dae su have both of his arms on su hyeok and wu jin's shoulders, helping him to walk. y/n's wound isn't getting better either, but since dae su's are on his thigh, that is most likely why he need extra help to walk. "what the hell?" spoke mi jin. "what happened?" hyo ryeong asked her. "shit. i think we're lost."

"there isn't a trail?" "there hasn't been a trail for a while. i think we've been going in fucking circles." you could hear worry in mi jin's voice. "why did you come this way if there was no trail? if we go down the wrong way, it will be hyosan." said dae su before he whimpers from the pain. "ha ri." wu jin let go of dae su's arm. everyone reacts to him calling his sister. "look." pointing to his front. "there's something there." a golden decorative ribbon was tied to a dry tree branches, marking something. the three women started walking first to the ribbon for a closer look before everyone else following.

ha ri grabs it before creasing her eyebrows together. "someone must've left it there. who did something so nice, huh?" mi jin spoke out with a huge smile on her face, "a ginseng digger?" her smile gets bigger as she questioned it to the other girls. y/n sent back the same smile to mi jin before they both turn to ha ri, not seeing a smile curved on her face and making them wipe theirs off. "who is that?" asked hyo ryeong. mi jin turned to her and back to y/n with an innocent looking grin.

ha ri was looking around until she says "there is another one." y/n's lips was curved into an 'O' before walking to the other ribbon ha ri mentioned. this one was tied on one of the trees there.

they all kept following the tied ribbons after finding out there was more than two. on jo was doing the same until she stopped at the look of something. a flashlight.

she approached and squat down to grab it only to see a sticker of his father's name sticking on it. she began to sob knowing her father was the one tying all of these ribbons to know the way out of the woods before he died. on jo grab into it very tightly to her chest. that's the only thing left from her father.

- time skip -

getting out of the dry looking woods doesn't stop them from walking until they now reached the neighborhood. it was still foggy here, the sky wasn't the brightest and zombies weren't spotted yet. it's clear to know that most of them are bombed during the explosion last night. infact, that is the purpose of blowing the school and some other locations up.

the kids found some brutally dead crows. everyone was wary of the possible sudden attack. y/n, mi jin and su hyeok was still holding their own weapons, ha ri threw away all her archery stuff including her bow earlier from empty arrows while the others didn't have any weapons on them.

"didn't he say to go to yangdong?" dae su broke the silent. "you don't think there are zombies here too, do you?" hyo ryeong ignored his question. "no way. maybe they evacuated because it's next to hyosan."

"we're okay here." ha ri spoke out. "why? how do you know that?" asked the short haired. "there are no broken windows or blood on the street. it wouldn't be thus clear if there had been a zombie rampage." she finished her sentences.

y/n was thinking, "we're not sure. even if there weren't any signs of zombies or really evacuated somewhere, there is no guarantee we won't meet anymore zombies and they could most likely found us along the way, ha ri." said y/n softly. "you're right. i'm getting a bad feeling about this." mi jin agreed. another dead animal which is a cat, was spotted a moment after.

nam ra stopped walking to the confusion she's feeling. "what?" on jo asked her, sensing something could be wrong. "hold on." it looks like she was studying something. something she's hearing.

nam ra quickly turned to her back before inhaling deeply. "nam ra, what is it?" questioned on jo. dae su's arm was let go once again for su hyeok to approach the examining girl. "what is up? you heard something?" he then asked.

"zombies." the word that just came out of nam ra's lips made y/n shivers, she was right. "where though?" asked the ponytailed girl beside nam ra. "everywhere." "a lot..a lot of them?"

"one, two, three..." she started counting the amount of zombies she heard, "four, five, six.." su hyeok tightened his grip on his baseball bat. "seven, eight..nine, ten, eleven..." it keeps adding up.

"run." everyone started running after nam ra told them to. "hey, follow me!" mi jin leads everybody to a small alley near them before nam ra threw away the blinds over her eye. y/n ran her left hand to the wound on her stomach, the pain is getting worse especially at a time like this. it was also hard for su hyeok and wu jin to keep up since they were helping a friend to walk.

they all reached the alley with some shops and outdoor markets. everyone in front walks back to the three boys when they all fell tripping over something. su hyeok was the one that stand up first, throwing away his baseball bat and grabbing the shovel he saw just beside them. "are you okay?" on jo asked. "take dae su and go." he planned on beating the zombies all by himself before dae su spoke "forget it." also grabbing a shovel. "what are you doing?" "i said forget it." everyone else started doing the same with all the other tools available but nam ra and the lovebirds since they both have a weapon that stays from the beginning.

su hyeok catched on jo grabbing herself a crowbar. "on jo." she strengthen the grip on it. "shit. i feel this may be the end." cursed park mi jin. "stay behind me." said wu jin to his sister before standing up in front of her. "don't be like this, stay back." she shoved him behind her but he won't listen, wu jin's back standing in front of her.

the tension they feel gets bigger and stronger every seconds, hearing the groans from the rotten figures getting closer and even closer before they started to appear one by one out of the slight fog. everyone have their weapons sealed to their hands and ready to throw a couple of blow.
