'I promise, I'll come back to you, Kook... just don't worry... Okay?'

'Jimin-ah...'

'You promised us...'

'You...

promised... Me...'

Jimin suddenly woke up from his blackouts, gasping for air frantically. There was excruciating pain every time he tried to take a deep breath.

His face and body were drenched in sweat. He tried to move, but his whole body felt crushed and his head was throbbing so badly. He lifted his hand, aiming to that certain spot on his head.

'Wet,' he thought as he touched the stinging area, wincing in pain. He wiped it with his hand, bringing it to his nose.

Blood.

His head was bleeding. Much. He could feel the blood was flowing down the side of his face to his neck. His eyes followed the drip of the blood from his right collarbone, going down to his torso area. And that's when he realized there was a branch stuck in the area of his abdomen-just below the rib cage.

"Shit! I'm in trouble," he muttered as he touched the base of the branch, brushing his fingertips around the wound.

Sucking air through his teeth while wincing in pain, he looked around to find a backrest to lean his exhausted self. He crept aside, trying to reach the flat surface of a huge stone-two feet from his left side. With great difficulty, he finally managed to get there. His breath was unstable-fast and shallow-from the insignificant yet draining movement. Every cell in his body was screaming in agony from the tormenting sensation.

He leaned backward, hand crawled on his bare stomach to the piercing spot, once again feeling the area around the wound that had torn open his flesh. He held his breath as he bit his bottom lip hard when he tried to pull out the stuck branch. He was halfway from getting it all out when his hands started shaking.

He stopped for a moment, taking the time to gather his remaining energy. Inhaling a big amount of air with certain trouble, he continued his attempt but fresh blood flowed nonstop along with the gradual removal of the branch, leaving him to drop limply. He tried to open his eyes, but his vision began turning blurry.

'Jimin-ah...'

'Wake up...'

'We will wait for you, just come back to us safely...'

'Sergeant Park...'

'You won't make it, why are you so stubborn?'

'I'll come back, I promise'

The voices coming from his subconscious forced him to survive, to stay strong against the excruciating pain. His body wanted to give up but his heart and mind instructed the opposite. It was like he had his whole existence in autopilot mode-he reinforced his heart and made up his mind, whispering to himself to live.

'You promised them you'd come back. You will die, yes, but not today, Park Jimin!'

'Wake the fuck up!!'

He jerked his eyes open as he sucked in a sharp breath. Beads of sweat were formed on his forehead and his chest heaved up and down irregularly. He shook his pulsating head and blinked several times to get a better vision. Once he was fully conscious, his eyes once again darted to the wound on his stomach. He drew a long breath and held it until the veins in his neck and temple protruded, then pulled out the rest of the branch at once.
