10. Finding My Way Back

Prakriti's pov:

My chain of thoughts get broken by Esha's voice. She comes near the bed.

Esha: Good morning.
She said with the sweetest smile.

Prakriti: Good morning.
I said returning a smile.

Esha: What were you thinking? You seemed lost.

Prakriti: I've been lost ever since he left. But now I decided to find my way back.
Hi
Esha: That's great. If you need any help just let me know. Sid and I are always there.
I nod in response

Esha: Now let's have your breakfast.
She took the breakfast from the bed side table and placed it on the bed.

Prakriti: You made this?

Esha: Mhmm

Prakriti: Woah that's crazy. As long as I remember everytime you tried to cook we would have to sleep with an empty stomach cause you didn't know how to cook something that's actually edible.
We both burst into laughter.

Esha: Woh actually Sid taught me how to cook. He's always busy so I just wanted to help him with the cooking that's why I started learning how to cook.

Prakriti: Ohooo itna care. You never tried to cook for me when I was busy and when it comes to Sid you want to help him huh?
I said with a teasing smile. She blushes.

Esha: Please don't start it again. Just eat it already. It's getting cold.

Prakriti: Yeah yeah whatever.
I said rolling my eyes and started to eat.

Esha: Have you talked to Sukriti?
I stopped eating and looked at her.

Esha: It has been 8 months since she left. We really miss her.

Prakriti: I haven't talk to her since 6 months. You know she is like my second mom. If I start talking to her she will definitely find out something is wrong. So I just decided to stop talking to her.

Esha: Wouldn't she be worried.

Prakriti: I know she is worried but I just wasn't ready to face her questions. She is working on a really big project. It means a lot to her. If she gets to know about the truth she will leave everything and come to me.

Esha: But you should at least talk to her once. I know you miss her too.

Prakriti: I do. I guess we will call her later today.
She smiles.

Esha: That would be great.
By now I have finished my food. She took the plates and I went to freshen up.

After getting ready for the day I come out of the room. I see Esha and Sid watching tv.

Prakriti: Are you guys having fun without me?

Sid: Arreh we were trying to find a movie to watch but all of them seems boring.
He seemed disappointed.

Prakriti: Then leave the tv and let's just gossip. When we are together we can be more entertaining than any comedy movie.

Esha: Without a doubt.

We started to talk about many things. At one point we talked about where and with whom I was staying all this time. We discussed about what was going on our life in the past few months. It was fun hearing there engagement story. My phone started ringing it was Sukriti calling. I immediately picked it up with excitement.

Sukriti: So you finally have time to pick up my call?
She said in an angry tone.

Prakriti: Sorry Sukriti I was really busy that's why I couldn't pick up your call.

Sukriti: Stop giving excuses you never have time for me.

Prakriti: Sorry meri maa. Galti ho gayi. Lo kaan bhi pakar liya ab toh maaf kardo.
Her anger vanishes within a second and she starts laughing.

Sukriti: Ok fine. Chal jayo tumhe maaf kiya.

Prakriti: Thank you so much for your kindness ma'am.

Sukriti: Ok ok let's get into the real topic. Guess what? I'm coming back after A WEEK!!!!

Prakriti: OMG finally!!!!! Esha has to know this. She misses you way too much. You know what we were talking about how much we miss you today morning.

Sukriti: Well now you don't have to miss me anymore and also tell Esha about it.

Prakriti: Why don't you tell her. She also has a good news for you.

Sukriti: Really? What is it?

Prakriti: Why would I tell you? you have to ask her yourself.

Sukriti: Then give her the damn phone.
I went back to the living room and gave her the phone.

Esha: Hi Sukriti! Finally talking to you after so long. I missed you a lot.

Sukriti: Yeah yeah the fact that you didn't contact me for all these months definitely proves how much you missed me.
She said sarcastically.

Sukriti: Anyways, I have a good news for you. I'm coming back NEXT WEEK!!!

Esha: OMG are you kidding or is this for real?

Sukriti: What makes you think it's a lie?

Esha: I just can't believe we are meeting after so long.

Sukriti: I know right. Prakriti told me you have a good news for me what is it?

Esha: Yup I do and it beats yours. Can you guess?

Sukriti: Just tell me already.

Esha: Ok fine. Sid and I are ENGAGED!!!
I said showing her my ring.

Sukriti: OMG what the fuck. I am so happy for you. But It's so unfair how you got engaged without me. I leave for a few months and you decide to get engaged? You gotta pay back for it once I get back.

Prakriti: Don't worry I'm just as unlucky as you. I was out of town at that time so I couldn't be present at the engagement.

Sukriti: Dude you really got engaged without both of your closest friends? I didn't expect that from you Esha.
She said acting angry.

Esha: Don't worry guys. We will have a party once Sukriti is back.

Prakriti: Well you better otherwise you're in trouble.

Sukriti: Yeah I'm with Prakriti. I gotta go guys bye. Love you all. Also Esha please don't get married till I come back.

Esha: I won't don't worry. Take care bye love you too.
