It has been days
since the lady stayed
in the shrine.
She only felt grateful
towards the blonde man,
for she learned a lot
during her stay.

And every day,
before she tends
to her chores,
she goes to the haiden
to offer her respect.

"Kami,
do you not feel lonely
staying here?"
The lady asks,
sitting on a chair
and eating fruits.

The blonde man
briefly glances at the woman
and resumes staring
at the torii gate.
"It is lonely."
He truthfully says.

"Kami,
we are nearing
the winter season,
before it gets too cold
for people to bear,
should we invite villagers
to come up here
and pray at your shrine?"
The lady asks.

"Have you hit your head?
Did you forget
how much of a chore
it is to walk
from the village
to this shrine?"
The blonde says,
baffled.

"But Kami,
it is hard to survive
during the nearing season,
where should those villagers
seek blessings?
If it is fine with you,
shall we go to the village
to have more preachers?"
The lady says.

"Then we shall,
this shrine needs more money
than your measly coins."
The blonde says
and heads inside
the shrine office,
but the lady only laughs.

to feel entranced
by her laugh.
The blonde thought
but immediately
brushed it off.

The blonde wears
a straw hat
that covers half his face
while the lady wears
the same set
of yukata.
They both bow
at the torii gate
and leave to go
to the main village,
which was a half an hour walk.

The both of them
had passed through lakes
and met different
wild animals,

"A waterfall,
Kami!
Let us use this spot
to flourish
a wonderful business!"
The lady says
as she spots a waterfall
and points at it.

"That is a sin
against nature,
noble lady.
A place like this
is best to be left
untouched.

to bestow you
with a lover?"
The blonde asks
with an eyebrow
raised in question.

"I humbly apologize."
The lady bashfully says
and looks away
from the waterfall.

"Don't apologize to me,
say it to the waterfall.
Or else we'll run out of water
to use in the shrine."
The blonde says.

Worried and anxious,
the lady faces
the direction of the waterfall
and bows
to a 90 degree.
"I deeply and
humbly apologize,
Mizu no Kami-sama!
Please bless us
with more water!"

The blonde widens
his eyes in shock
as he never thought
that the woman
would actually do it.
Nevertheless,
it is only right of her
to apologize
to the waterfall.

The blonde proceeds to walk
and says,
"Now come,
let us proceed
with our journey.
Just remember
to be good
and let nature
be nature."

The lady smiles
at what the man says
and looks back up
at the waterfall.
"Kami,
once we go back
to the shrine,
I will pray
that this waterfall
shall remain pristine."
She says
and catches up
to the man.

"Then it shall."
He replies.
