"Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that Marinette coming to school early?" Alya joked.

"Not funny," Marinette rolled her eyes a little, but she couldn't help but giggle a little. "Besides, there were chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Couldn't miss that."

"Uh-oh," Alya cut in. "That means something's happening."

"What do you mean?" Marinette asked.

"Last time you said you had a whole chocolate-chip-pancake-breakfast thing, it was the day your mom gave you that entire talk," Alya pointed out.

Marinette bit her lip, mentally cringing a little from that conversation.

"I'm sure it's probably just about driving or something," she shrugged. "I mean, I'm gonna be 15 soon."

"That's probably it," Alya agreed.

But to be honest, Marinette had noticed that her parents had been acting a little odd this morning. She had shrugged it off, though, figuring it was nothing major.

"Ooh, look," Alya said. "You-know-who is here."

Marinette turned to see two familiar guys walking up to them.

"Sup, dudettes!" Nino said, giving Alya a high-five.

But Marinette couldn't help but keep staring at the perfection that was Adrien Agreste. What was it about this guy that was so amazing?

"Is everything okay?" he asked.

"Oh... uh... everything's gate--no--great!" she stammered a little.

"Yeah, I guess things were just a little awkward this morning for me," Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. "My dad was already working, but my mom was acting a little strange, and when I asked if everything was okay, she kinda froze for a milisecond."

"Really?" Marinette wrinkled her nose in confusion. "My parents were acting a little weird this morning too. I just think it might because I might start driving soon."

"That was my guess as well," Adrien shrugged. "Maybe we could figure it out after school?"

Marinette wanted to drop dead right there.

Did the love of her life just ask to hang out with her after school?!

"Adrikins! I missed you so much!" Chloe barreled between them and started hugging Adrien, who clearly seemed uncomfortable with it. "I was thinking you and I could go check out a new movie or something like that today."

"Actually, I'm spending the afternoon with Marinette," Adrien said matter-of-factly.

"With Marinette!?" Chloe let out a fake gasp. "You know that girl could never match moi!"

"Yeah, because she goes above and beyond," Adrien blurted out, before quickly covering his mouth like he'd just admitted a secret.

Marinette? She was just trying to control her raging blush. She began tugging on her pigtails to try and keep herself in check.

"Well, I'm just letting you know that you could have a lot more fun being with me instead of her," Chloe crossed her arms.

"Chloe, Marinette and I have something very important to do after school, and the plans don't involve you," Adrien replied, taking Marinette's hand and walking away before anything else could get worse.

Marinette wanted to faint right on the spot.
