Thomas had left the house not long after that. Thea wasn't sure how to really feel about the whole interaction but it definitely left her with a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach. A feeling she sure she'd felt before and one she wasn't exactly sure what it was but also was opposed to feeling again. it'd been around two hours since Thomas had left now and Thea had used her time to get herself ready for the day, granted she could have done this much quicker but was trying to wait out her brothers unpredictable sleep schedule. he was still passed out when she left. Thea made her way down the back ally cobbles towards her destination. the only destination she'd really had in mind since the idea of London came about. she looked up at the window that had almost all its paint chipped off and smiled to herself, felling at home. she could use the front door, yes but this way was much more interesting.

Thomas sat opposite Alfie and there was a lot of tension. the room felt thick and heavy and Tommy was exactly sure if coming to Solomons had been the right move after all. "can I smoke?" Thomas asked lowly. not that he was really asking for permission he just wanted to break the silence, which was unusual for Thomas since the war. usually he basked in the uncomfortable silences, he loved them because he knew he held the upper hand in them. but since Thea came around he's been finding them harder to sit through. its because he doesn't know what she's thinking, that's what he tells himself. but even when she's talking he doesn't know what she's thinking either, and he feels the same with Alfie right now. he can't read him, doesn't quite know what's going through his head. "can you fucking smoke?" Alfie asks back with his usual flare of dramatics "I don't know, can you?" he leans his elbows onto his desk. Tommy doesn't reply instead just proceeds to light the cigarette. "I made you a proposition mr Solomon, id like to hear-" Tommy was interrupted by the window behind Alfies desk flying open. without hesitation Thomas pulled out his gun unsure of what or who was coming through the window. Alfie too had reached for his gun not yet having raised it, but when he saw two feet make their way trough he sighed out a chuckle and sat back down at his desk with his back to the window, no longer having to look and see who it might be. he could hear the racket being made behind him but chose to focus on organising his desk a little in attempts to look as unbothered as possible but when he looked up and saw Tommy with his gun still out he snapped a little "put your fucking gun away" and Tommy did with furrowed eyebrows, his eyes not yet leaving the window though. Tommy watched as a girl he was hoping wasn't who he thought it was climbed down from the window and over Alfies filing cabinet before hoping onto the floor and spinning around to face the two men. Thomas' heart stopped when he saw the girl, the last thing he wanted was for his daughter to be involved in his business and as he opened his mouth to scold  her for following him, Alfie beat him to it "what have I fucking told you about using the door" this drew theas attention away from Tommy and onto the man she came here to see. "dunno" she said simply replied as she moved to stand behind him, reading over his shoulder to the documents he had on his desk. "to fucking use it! that's what I said" Thomas stood there in shock, he couldn't work out the interaction that was happening in front of him. Thea reached over Alfie and picked up at piece of paper to read to more closely "oi!" Alfie shouted reaching for the sheet but Thea was to quick and turned away before he could grab it. she made her way round the table taking up the seat Tommy was previously sitting in. Alfie dramatically flung his arms round at the girl, all the while Tommy just watched, baffled by the whole interaction still. Thea didn't say anything instead she just looked up at Alfie with a confused face clearly asking him what the letter was about "no you don't get to know things anymore, you left" at this Thea rolled her eyes and looked back towards Tommy, silently letting him know this is his fault. Alfie saw this and it reminded him that Thomas was actually in the room, he'd completely forgot he was even there admits the whole whirlwind that is Thea, he'd never say it to her and if anyone else told her he'd deny it but he was worried. he hadn't seen or heard from her it months or her brother, they left without a word which Alfie thought was strange in itself but when he spoke to the orphanage that they used to live at and all the information they had was 'their family has taken them home' he was worried. as far as Alfie knew the twins had no family, so yeah he was scared and now confused seeing as the girls sat across from acting as if she never went missing in the first place. "right Thea out yeah, I'm in a fucking meeting eh, go sit with ollie I'll talk to you after" to this Thea just leaned back into her chair and crosser her arms, raising an eyebrow at him. "its ok, she's fine" Tommy announced as he moved to take a seat in the other chair. Alfies eyes flicked between them "do yous know each other?" Alfie was back in business mode now, forearms rested on the table, eyes moving between the two Shelby's with a monotone face. "no" Thea answered at the same time Tommy said "yes". they both briefly glanced at each other. "right, right. are yous related?" Alfie asked.  "distantly" Thea said and the same time Tommy said "daughter". "ohh, I see. that's where they've shipped you off to then? fucking Birmingham?" Thea glanced again at Thomas who was already looking at her, his eyes held no emotion, she had no idea if he was mad at her right now, presumably yes but even she knew he'd never show that in-front of Alfie. "yeah, few months now" she replied shortly looking back to Alfie. "right...and what, they dont have phones in dirty Birmingham eh?" he asked rhetorically, frankly Alfie was pissed that neither of the twins thought to let him know they were alive, he'd had people all over London looking for them, he'd even checked the morgues just incase. "didn't think id be gone this long" she said with her eyes now solely focussed on Alfie "thought they would've sent us back by now". she knew she couldn't look at Thomas cause she was still uncomfortable with him and acknowledging him being there would stop her from talking with Alfie just now, so instead she has to pretend like he dissent exist and like he wasn't listening to what she was telling Alfie and face the consequences later. "and how is it? family life." Alfie pressed her, eyeing Tommy as he did. "fine" she replied dully "no, if I ask you a question you give me a fucking answer. fine. is not a fucking answer" Thea rolled her eyes. Alfie always new how to make her speak, even when she was at her worst, Alfie could get a conversation out of her "ok its good, I don't know, Aarons happy so its good!" Thea let out with another eye roll, annoyed at herself for saying all this in-front of Tommy. she planned on acting like it never happened later, probably ignoring him for a couple days for good measure. "Aarons happy but are you?" Alfie asked her in the most serious voice he could muster. if she so much as shook her head no he'd kill Tommy Shelby there and then, he wouldn't care what happened after that but if Thea told him that Thomas wasn't taking care of them right he'd kill every Shelby there was. "yeah I'm good" she said looking down at her lap. "we should go" she said looking back up to Alfie and standing. Alfie rounded the desk and pulled Thea into a hug as Tommy pulled on his coat. Tommy watched as Alfie muttered something in Russian to the girl before pulling away and walking up to tom. "ill be in touch yeah" he said as he squeezed Tommys hand in a firm hand shake that lasted a little to long for theas comfort and resulted in her pushing Alfie back a little muttering "come on".  Once back outside Thea quickened her pace in hopes to get away from Tommy and avoid this conversation all together. she didn't make it far before tom grabbed a hold of her upper arm stopping her not missing the way she flinched when he did causing him to let go immediately. "what the fuck was that eh?" Tommy mumbled as he lit himself a cigarette "I lived in London for four years, you think I don't know Alfie Solomons?" she replied as she started her walk again "I think you more than know Alfie, seems like your friends" Thomas was Walking a couple steps behind the girl and watching as she pulled her thin jacket around her small body and ducked into a side ally Tommy didn't even know was there and so he spoke again "where are we going". "home"  Thea was fast ducking in and out of people and most people probably wouldn't of noticed she was making sure Tommy was following her, he noticed. when tom realised Thea wasn't going to answer his first question he poked again, not wanting to let the subject drop "so, Alfie?" he watched her rub her arms for a moment as she walked "fine yes I know Alfie! he saved my life ok, we owe him, me and Aaron" Thea was shocked when she felt a heavy fabric drape over her shoulders, she looked back at Tommy but he didn't hold eye contact for long, giving her back a slight pat on the back then moving to fall into step with her. "how'd he save your life?" he asked quietly. he knew he was pushing his luck here but he had to ask, he wasn't expecting an answer, not a real one anyway "when we first ran away to here, to London, we were on the streets. one night some drunk guys stumbled past us and decided to pick on Aaron" she kept her eyes forward not daring to look at him as they walked but Tommys full attention was on her, he was hanging on every word. "they beat him up, it was pretty bad. then they noticed me, stared grabbing me and stuff, ripped my clothes. alfie caught them before they did anything. we owe him for that, and a lot more" Tommy just nodded, he didn't trust himself to say anything, his blood was boiling, he could feel his hands clenching into fists at his side, not just about what those men had done and tried to do to his children but also for the fact the whole time he could've been there. they should have never had to live on the streets, or in orphanages or bad homes. he could have stopped it all, could've gave them a home and a family so much sooner,  if only their mother had told him they existed. as they neared the house Tommy set a hand on theas shoulder before she went up the steps. "I think we should talk more about this eh?" Thea eyed him for a second and Thomas was sure she would say no but instead she just handed him back his coat with a small "hmm" and though it wasn't exactly the answer Tommy wanted it was better than the one he thought he would get, and he'd take that.
